They are in fact quite easy to kill. But they will come back and be pretty pissed off. Death can’t hold them but it’s not a pleasurable journey.

Millions of years ago there were two celestial creatures. One was a being that swam through the universe named Discord or wyrm who devoured all life he came across. The other was a being who existed in the second between life and death. A nameless being who called itself Derpy. Discord finally died when he was tricked into crashing into the earth when it was still young. Though he was dead he is still clinging somehow to life.

Cut to modern times. In this alternate world MLP G1 was a failure and Hasboro pretty much left it alone until 2000’s under a man named Simon K instead of Lauren Faust in ours. However before its 2010 release the show vanished along with everything associated with the show. It was then people started to vanish.

The ponies are the dead. The show is a gateway for them but in order to use it you have to be one of those things.
