My Opinion on Comparing One’s Pain in Stories

I’m my opinion, I think it’s wrong to compare one's pain to another.

You can’t just say, “Hey, other people went through more pain so you should be grateful,” or “I know how you feel,” or “I know the feeling.” That is not the right way to console someone when they experience loss, be it losing someone they loved.

These people need empathy and support.

Although the fact that many characters had their family members killed, some had someone to raise them and let go of that pain. Others never have that and as a result, they were too old to be taught from square one like some do so they have to find out on their own.
