Happy PRIDE Month, mis ponis.
So, I just noticed an interesting thing.
After having just posted a story, literally within minutes, it received one "thumb up" and four "thumb down" ratings. This is very interesting to me as it was a six-thousand word story which had zero 'views' at the time of the ratings.
This says a few very interesting and somewhat ugly things about some people. *tches*
A very bizarre and disappointing fact I've had to see of late is the surprising amount of anti-LGBTQ sentiment I've seen on the MLP facebook group I follow. For a fandom which is supposed to be built around the ideas of love and harmony triumphing over bigotry and hate, that's pretty heartbreaking. The admins there have had to ban an embarrassing number of people for making the group a much uglier place to be. Recently they've even had one rather unpleasant person banned deliver a practical manifesto via DMs, purring up like a wounded peacock and making quite a few threats to the fandom and the LGBTQ community, promising to make their own "anti-brony group", "bring down the etc. etc. etc...
I'm wondering how much bleedover such unpleasant sentiment and people have to this site?
Oh well. Ugly people create ugliness and hateful people spread hate, sad to say.
Love one another and Ave Discord.
Sorry you got hit by the hate. We had a mod investigate down voting on some of the pride stories earlier this month and they weren't able to do anything about it. C'est la vie.
Hail Eris
[Ah! My hail Eris was just in response to your Ave Discord. I wondered, but I now also notice the words under your profile. Confirmation. Well met. You've put a smile on my face today.]
(Oh, and I should mention that views statistics take a few hours to update but thumbs update on page reload. Those thumbs could have been legitimate, but I doubt it.)

Thank you for your compassion and your candour. It's been rather eye-opening of late seeing just how much ugliness ans bigotry has managed to pervade even the MLP fandom. Bizarre, considering just how much the show is based on the ideals of acceptance of other cultures and creatures.
While I realize people may not like a piece of writing for any number of reasons, just Looking through the comments, very little legit criticism seems to have been given, mostly just vitriol and concern-trolling -or the one incredibly self-important sot who seems to just be stating his personal gripe as if it was fact. Ugh.
All the same, it all just serves to remind me of why I do what I do and why voices of cruelty and bigotry need to be combated with voices of compassion and reason. My wife and our family aren't going anywhere. If anything, this display has just re-forged my resolve to continue the pride parade. :)
It's been a pleasure to make your acquaintance. Nonsense Non-servium and Big Love.
