    That Night and other stories

    Dear readers,

I am proud to announce that the story That Night will be continued beyond the original intended length and scope. Another story, which I had started working on earlier today, will be taking a pause as I work more on That Night and refine my direction for the story.

    PVA quality control

So I went back to chapter one today for editing that should have been done long ago... 'twas quite terrible writing. As such, I will be going through the entire story and correcting errors before releasing the next chapter. And now, I ask you, the reader, for help. I'd like to have this story edited by a third party as well, to ensure that nothing is missed. If anyone is willing to look over

    Summer Wars, SSDs, PVA

Summer Wars by Madhouse, FUNimation, Warner Brothers, a comedy/romance/action anime of 2009 is a story about a boy, a girl and her family, and a giant global network. Rarely do I find movies that are truly worthy of posting a review. Summer Wars is one of the few. The heros are not obvious, nor is the ending. It brings to light the issues facing putting so much trust into the internet,

    Stories, life, updates

Hey y'all! Sorry for the lack of updates recently, RL was very busy and I've been pretty stressed. Fortunately things have quieted down for now so I can get back to writing.

Chapter 3 and other things · 6:36pm Oct 28th, 2011

Most of the time, I hate mornings... mornings mean work...
Usually it takes me about three to five hours to actually wake up. There is an exception to my dislike of mornings... and it's almost hypocritical towards my earlier statement.... but I enjoy being the first one to arrive at work. It's actually sort of enjoyable to be in a mostly empty building, turning on all the equipment and getting things ready for the day ahead... dunno why I enjoy that, but I do. Back when I worked for the University of Rochester, my morning routine was pretty nice. Unlock the door to the office section of the lab, grab a flashlight, go through the darkroom door (it was kind of like a scifi airlock where you walk into a circular room that has one opening that rotates around to each entrance), walk through the dark room to the final section of the lab, turn on the lights, seal the test chamber, start up the vacuum pumps, start up the computers, read webcomics for an hour in the office section while water particles are removed from the chamber walls... good times.

But anyways, I try to share the sort of atmosphere and beauty that I saw when I went on 6 AM shifts at the ambulance station in the upcoming chapter "Paperwork Perils". Today I finished the planning stage for that chapter and have moved onto the actual writing of it. Chapter three should be finished and released by next Wednesday.

I wish to take some time to thank everyone who has even just read my story. I'm honored to see it become even as popular as it is. Usually it takes month, even years for any of my work to reach 500 views. Special thanks to anyone who has given me feedback about my story. It has been quite helpful.

Speaking of feedback, I submitted chapters 1 and 2 as a joint chapter to Equestria Daily just to see if I could get it in. Not surprisingly, it was rejected, however the feedback I received from the pre-reader was... questionable...

"The fic mixes either tenses or points of view... I /think/ they're mixing both. It goes from second person present, to third person present while the point of view flits about like a ferret on some sort of methamphetamine.

Abbreviations are tossed about with reckless abandon, and the author is assuming that everyone will know medical procedures and operations. Sadly, this is not the case. I work in a hospital, and this just made me raise my eyebrow in wonder.

The entire 'story' is almost like a blend between a duty log and an old script from the TV Series 'Emergency!' from 1972.

This could be good, but it needs a whole lot of lovin'.

Would highly suggest the ponychan training grounds."

When do i ever switch to second person...?

I do agree I've mixed up my tenses more than a few times, and that I switch point of view too much early on, but I don't think it was THAT bad.
Also, whats this about me assuming that everyone knows the medical terms I use? I wrote the glossary because I don't expect most people to know what they mean.

I would like to make it known that I have a lot of respect for Equestria Daily and the pre-readers... I merely think that they misjudged my writing (but I could be wrong! if you think I am, please show me. Feedback is essential to writing.)

That's all for now.
