Thank you Tara and Kevin · 6:35am May 2nd, 2020
With the quarantine affecting everyone in the countries' want or need for travel, it has been a rather gloomy time having to stay at home. Speaking from experience, it's important for all of us to interact with family and friends once in a while. It's thanks to people like Tara Strong and Kevin Conroy that we are able to stay entertained. On April 26, Strong and Conroy held an online charity auction, where sold a Harley Quinn cap for $1,000. The profits were sent directly to Meals on Wheels. The auction was held on Instagram through a live video chat, with more than 5,000 viewers watching, commenting, and placing bids.
Tara Strong and Kevin Conroy are both well-known voice actors. Strong is known for her roles in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, The Fairly Odd Parents, and the original Powerpuff Girls. Kevin Conroy is best known for his role as the Dark Knight in Batman: The Animated Series, in which Strong is also credited for her role as Batgirl. Even though the show has ended, they have kept in touch and have maintained a close friendship with one another. Most recently, Conroy made a guest appearance in the sixth annual Arrowverse crossover event Crisis on Infinite Earths, featuring episodes of the television series Supergirl, Batwoman, The Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow on The CW, where Conroy reprised his role as Bruce Wayne. Conroy is currently working on a Masters of the Universe miniseries entitled Masters of the Universe: Revelation where he will voice the character Mer-Man. Having recently finished her role last year as Princess Twilight Sparkle in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Tara Strong has also continued her acting career. She has since appeared in the horror comedy Witness Infection, and is set to appear in the TV movie Beverly Hills Broke.
With the quarentine still in effect, they are both stuck at home, with limited to no interaction with family, friends, and most importantly, their fans. That said, that has not stopped them from taking to the internet to keep the spirits of their followers alive. Both actors conveyed a lot of energy and affable charm during the auction, replying to fans and sharing funny stories from their past experiences working together. Even though it was profitable selling off the item for auction, their true goal was to lift our spirits during this time of isolation. They are both truly as talented as they are charitable.
