    Happy St. Patrick's Day🍀☘️

Currently doing a bar crawl in Downtown (ok so we started in Corktown and are making our way through any good AVAILABLE bar today) with some friends and a couple of co-workers of mine, who we unintentionally ran into. Turns out great minds think alike! Ironically I'm the "Uber Call Girl" tonight so...unfortunately can't get TOO wasted (plus I actually have work tomorrow...couldn't call off).

Sim Story #2: A Witch in Windenburg · 12:08am Apr 27th, 2020

Welcome Back to my Bi-weekly blog series of Sim Stories! Today we have just one story, but it's a nice one! Enjoy!

A Witch in Windenburg
By Ivory Jackson

Sim(s): Juno Moonbeam [nee; Cassidy] (F. YA), Sabrina Cassidy (F. Black Cat/Domestic Shorthair mix. Familiar), Xander Moonbeam (M. YA), Harvey Moonbeam (M. Tabby. Familiar)

Story: The Cassidy's were a long family line of incredibly powerful wizards and witches. Each one a direct descendant of one of the oldest families in Glimmerbrook. That family had some incredibly powerful Spellcasters and Potion Mages that ever lived. With each new generation born, a rite of passage was performed at birth to determine the baby's power. After a 3 year period, if the child (or children, after all they were a long and...fruitful familial line so multiple kids at once wasn't uncommon), is able to begin their magic training as well as their betterment training to be on their way of being proper ladies and gentlemen. All seemed really well...until.....the day Juno and her brother were born. What would normally be a joyous occasion was anything but. Freak thunderstorms ravaged the area the morning of their births. Familiars were in all sorts of tizzys that day. It seemed the very core of Glimmerbrook was out of wack the very minute after Juno came into the world, just a minute after her brother. Her parents were shocked at what they saw when Juno and her brother Io opened their eyes for the first time. Io's eyes were the standard blue that every Cassidy had, yet Juno...her eyes were gray. So gray they almost passed for white. That was the day the family would further continue to refer as "Black Friday". For a black sheep was born that day and a future was lost. When the twins were barely a day old, Juno let out a powerful magical charge. So powerful that it started a massive fire in the family temple. Juno, her parents and some other relatives managed to survive, yet many were lost, including her brother Io. Left unaware of what happened, Juno lay there in her crib sound asleep. Of course her grief-stricken mother did at once attempt to end her young life immediately, yet Juno's magic and that of her grandparents protected her. From then on, despite having no choice but to live with her parents, it was her grandparents and various nannies who took care of the young witch. Her parents all but ignored her unless she was persistent. Then it was as if she truly wished to be invisible when her parents were around. Calling her all forms of horrible names and basically treating her, their only surviving child, like dirt. Years go by and when Juno's a preteen, she experienced a great tragedy. Her beloved grandmother, Rosalie passed from overcharged magic and overexcursion. Somehow her father managed to blame her for this loss (despite Juno not even being in the magic realm with her "Granny" when she passed) and Juno had just about had enough of it all. The very next night after her grandmother's funeral, Juno packed a few of her belongings and with her grandfather's help and a well placed broom, ran away and never looked back. Leaving Glimmerbrook and her family behind.

Years went by. The black sheep of the esteemed Cassidy Family had been a vagabond for the entirety of her teens and a small bit of her young adult life. Juno never stayed in one set place for too long. Made money by selling her mystic carvings and potions that she figured out by experience and time. Eventually she decided to push luck to the wind and settle down in one spot. What drew her to Windenburg was a mystery in itself. The town had it's own share of mysterious alien sightings and other oddities, yet was renowned for it's breakthroughs in science and medicine. Within a month of her living there, she'd made some friends who'd prove invaluable to her as the years went on. Found honest work as a barista while still selling her carvings and potions on the side. Managed to find a home of her own and even though her magic wasn't always the most incredible, she managed to obtain two familiars in Sabrina, a cat and Luna, a Sixam Owl. When word reached her about her grandfather being on his death bed, Juno zoomed back to the place she'd once called home. Uncaring of anyone saw her on her old, crappy broom. When she reached Glimmerbrook, it was if a familiar wave washed over her. Her heart clenched in her chest as she neared the family home where she could still sense her "Papaw's" magic energy fading away and his life soon to come to an end. With whatever strength she could, she wormed her way into her grandfather's bedchambers. When he saw her and recognized who she was, his entire face lit up. A gentle hug from him was what set it off and Juno found herself spending the rest of the night by her grandfather's side. Telling him of her travels and of her life now in Windenburg. Her job and friends were brought up with many a laugh and some tears. Before he drew his last breath, Jasper gifted his granddaughter with his most prized possession, his own wand and a promise that he'd always be there for her. The funeral was long and despite the whole procession looking forlorn, Juno smiled. She got the usual sneers and scathing remarks of how her mere attitude let alone presence was an insult to her late grandfather's legacy. She didn't care. Ironically it was during the repast that she'd meet someone who'd change her life for the better.

His name was Xander. He introduced himself as her grandparents' protege. He'd been taught by them since he was 11. His own family encouraging these teachings as it was that he was the first spellcaster born into their family in over 200 years. He seemed shy at first, yet when Juno decided to introduce herself, it was like a light was turned on and suddenly they both could see in a way they could not have before. He told her how he truly felt at peace with her grandparents. She told him of growing up with them in comparison to her parents. He was barely two years older than herself, yet Juno could easily tell he had some things he still needed to learn. They both learned that they surprisingly lived really close to each other (Xander living in San Myshuno and Juno living in Windenburg). They began to video call and chat regularly. He'd even go to visit her often enough (she'd return the favor as it was). The commute wasn't hard due to Xander's broom and Juno's ability to teleport herself long distances. All was going great and soon enough it was if the pair of them were nearly inseperable. All it took was a question of "do you maybe wanna move in together?" to have Xander and his familiar, Harvey moving into Juno's spacious flat in Windenburg. They continued a steady ease of living cohabiting the same space and it soon became apparent of their growing feelings for each other. With Juno figuring out a potion of infinity and a potion of youth all in the same day, it took zero effort to make both potions and tested them out on herself and Xander (albeit reluctantly she did this). They worked to her shock and his awe! Now they could be forever young! This kind of jubilation caused what can only be best described as a heat-of-the-moment thing and Xander wrapped his arms around her in a searing, yet passionate kiss. This was the final catalyst for their growing passion. Well...I'll let you people guess what happened after that, yet I'll let you know that after a season, Juno was the one to pop the question and they would marry in the most "them" fashion possible. At a seedy wedding chapel in between a "Bubble Blower" shop and a arcade in San Myshuno with all their friends and Xander's family in attendance.

Flash forward a few seasons more and the pair discover that they are indeed expecting their first child. The Black sheep and the Miracle baby finally having what they've always wanted. A true family.

This concludes today's Sim story! Hope you enjoyed it!
