The Ivisible Man-Review (Spoilers) · 8:14pm Feb 28th, 2020
I thought "The Invisible Man" was a good film. The film is written and directed by Leigh Whannell (Upgrade; Saw; Insidious) and it is based on the 1897 book of the same name by H.G. Wells. The direction and writing is great, the cinematography and music was also great. The acting was also great. The ending was kind of anti-climatic, it's like this just happened and it is literally over, but I think I can see why the film went there. It could of been more psychological, but that's just me. I accidently discovered a spoiler before seeing this film and had I not discovered it, I may have liked it more. Despite these problems, this is still a great film. The film stars Elizabeth Moss, Aldis Hodge, Storm Reid, Harriet Dyer, Michael Dorman, and Oliver Jackson- Cohen.
The wife (Moss) leaves her abusive husband (Cohen) behind. A couple of weeks later, she finds out that her husband committed suicide. She's grateful of the news, but then an "invisible man" is stalking and tormenting her. She believes that the invisible man is her husband and is still alive. No one believes her though. She must find proof in order for those she cares about to believe her and to stop the invisible man.
The film features themes such as abuse, freedom, standing up, facing your fears, trust, honesty, looking out for others, seeking truth and justice, friendship, dependence on others, independence. I recommend seeing this movie.
