2 months have passed since I resigned from work · 3:33pm Feb 25th, 2020
So far, I'm doing so much better. I have a lot of time pursuing interests for personal growth. Calligraphy, exercising, and studying Nihongo has helped keep me sane and stabilize my mental health.
For calligraphy, I remind myself to love my work and not dwell too much on how many likes and comments I receive on IG. I've experienced being unfollowed by those who think I'm not good enough, and you know what? That's their problem and loss. If the content that I post everyday brings motivation and inspiration to others, that's what matters the most.
I exercise at least 3 times a week for the purpose of breaking a sweat and for maintenance of weight and health. I don't aim to get big muscles because all those billboards and advertisements are just photoshopped and/or unrealistic societal expectations. Treadmill, cycling, dancing, and yoga are exercises that I mainly do and they totally help with reducing anxiety and improving my mood.
Nihongo is the language that interests me the most. I've been wanting to learn it ever since I was a child. I was able to read the hiragana and katakana characters on openings and endings of every anime that I watched on AXN and Animax. I studied 2 elementary levels and 2 intermediate levels of it when I was in college and now, I'm back to learn the actual basics. The instructors' ways of teaching is totally different. The first one taught us mostly the roomaji and writing sentences in roomaji. He made the learning experience quite interesting by incorporating storytelling and sorts of comedy and humor, to the point of adding profanity which makes him downright hilarious. On the other hand, the second one taught us how to write and pronounce the characters, contracted sounds, and special sounds. Kanji will be included in the curriculum and it will be taught in the succeeding weeks, so it's going to be a first for me. The only similarity I could find from both instructors is teaching the vocabulary and numbers. I may be of Chinese descent, but Nihongo will always be the #1 foreign language that I love learning.
Anyway, I just wanted to share with you about what I've been doing to keep myself going. I'm planning on taking calligraphy classes as I'm going to try to turn my personal IG account into a professional account to offer lettering services. I appreciate your love and support on my journey to discover my true calling and wherever you are in life, I'll definitely support you. Cheers!
Not that there is anything wrong with a treadmill, but I do believe just walking outside would be better. Better for the legs I think and finding a nice trail in nature is good for the soul.
If you can dance then that's one thing you can do that I sure can't
I remember days of Yoga and fragrance around the room, so relaxing.
Maintaining a healthy and long life is all that should really matter when it comes to physical exercise, unless you're trying to be a firefighter or police officer, then working on that muscle may just safe your life and someone else's

I have income, of course. Since my previous workplace is just near my house, I didn't have to worry about traffic. I have saved a lot of income because of that convenience.
