    FIMFiction Petition (Group Notifications)

Hmm. Interesting. So knighty eliminated the group thread notifications from our content feed, because they were taking too much space and slowing down the query for the site, or something like that. I'm not doubting that; that's not the problem I have. The problem I have is the fact that it has been two and a half weeks since this announcement/change was made, and even though knighty said it was

    Guys, I just realized . . .

    . . . You can report yourself.
I don't know why anyone would care (never mind actually doing it), but I was personally mind-blown that it was possible.

HELP NEEDED · 3:20pm Nov 18th, 2012

If you (or someone you know) can help me with what I am about to say, please respond (or direct that person you know to respond) on this blog.

Note: Help is needed with tech equipment, partially related with music, partially related with tech stuff in general.
Note II: Speakers and instrumentalists are not an issue.

What I'm trying to do is post a song on YouTube. Doesn't sound that hard, right? Well, with what I have in mind, you're wrong. I'm trying to make a video, and I want it to sound the best it could possibly be.

I need to know . . . well, everything. What do I need? What should I get? What are some of the best items out there for the job? (Pretend money is not an issue)

The only thing I have is a Windows XP Professional computer. If you want more details, ask.

Microphones. The one I have right now is a Behringer C-1 Studio Condenser Microphone. The problem is that I do not have any sort of cable, stand, or anything with it. I'm probably going to return it. What should I get? I'm looking for a condenser microphone, so I don't want a dynamic one. The one I had my eye on was called the AKG C 1000 S Microphone. Is this one good? What else would you recommend? What extras would be needed to buy along with it (e.i. Any sort of cord/jack, specific microphone stand)?

Video camera. In this area, I am completely blind, and I have no idea where to start - although I do know what I want and what to look for. Recommendations galore, please.

Miscellaneous. Anything else not mentioned above that I would need? (Ex. Computer-related program [Video editing, voice editing], other music-related items). Thank you so much for the help in advance. I appreciate it.

Note: If you cannot help, try making a blog about it.

So I said to this guy, "Have you heard about the new Asus tablet?"
And the guy said, "Oh, yeah, that Asus Transformer Infinity TF700T thing."
And I said, "Yeah! That Thing!"
And the guy said, "Yeah, it's awesome."
And then we jammed all night. :rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh:

No but seriously, that tablet is awesome. I already know what I'm getting for Christmas. (No, literally, I already know.)

In other news, I have not seen the newest episode yet (DAMN ME AND MY LACK OF TIME!). But I've heard it's awesome. Who knew Pinkie Pie could obliterate the 4th wall?

Oh, yeah, right. We already knew that. My mistake.

How would I know? It's been obliterated. :pinkiecrazy:
But back to the help I'm asking for . . .

I will ask my dad and bro. My pops know the good things to get, and my bro can fill in the other stuff you might need

I eagerly await that response.:pinkiehappy:

I Can send you a copy of FruityLoops or Cakewalk SONAR, And you can get a used Peavy X2100 on ebay for $100 (USD).

I'll post more later, but I gotta rake leaves.:pinkiehappy:

I'm still waiting. . .

Both of those computer programs sound interesting and cool (no pun intended). I couldn't find anything on a Peavy (Peavey?) X2100. What is it? Link?
Any more info?

Don't know crap about video editing.... but AUDIO editing? Audacity. love love love and it's FREE :pinkiehappy:

As for the mike, I use the Audio Technica AT2020 USB cardioid condenser mike. Plugs straight into my Win XP laptop, edit the input with Audacity, bam. Totally professional results. Have used this setup for several years now, very happy with it.

522522 My dad recommends you look at www.fullcompass.com
They have almost everything current with medium to high quality items. They will probably provide free consultation if they are going to sell you something.

And you probably want to pay money for some type of DAW(Digital Audio Workstation). There's usally a reason these kind of programs cost a couple hundred dollars.
