When I first began to play, this was the instrument I had my sights set on with obsessive behaviour. · 4:44pm Jan 29th, 2020
If you ignore how wrong this guy plays Come As You Are at the start, you'll hear that this KC signature Mustang is a beauty. Commonly used throughout 1993 on the In Utero tour, it is otherwise referred to as The In Utero Guitar by some fans of Nirvana. When I was shopping for my first Mustang, this was the guitar that I really wanted to learn my first song on, simply because the style is mean-looking but beautiful, able to make a firm statement, has a malleable tone and, come on, the colour is magnificent! (It's also in my avatar photo.)
Good luck finding one in today's market as a second-hand item. They are only getting more valuable as well as collectible. (You're looking at somewhere in the £800 - £1000+ region if you want one from Reverb.com or eBay. Shop around!)
That really does sound beautiful

The sonic blue paint job makes it more appealing, for sure. It's a lovely guitar with a unique tone unmatched by any other instrument. Mustangs are so unique and perfect for getting a heavy sound and for playing almost any genre, including blues. They are the best guitars that I've had the pleasure of holding. They feel just right, like if Goldilocks had a guitar story instead of a three bear story.
