YouTube sucks · 6:30am Nov 13th, 2019
Fellow people with fandom based channels on @YouTube, how are you setting your channels to apply with COPPA? I hate to see my comments and community section go but since most of my channel is child friendly they may have to. YouTube really has gone to crap.
It’s double screwing me with this child friendly thing and the commercially viable thing they just pulled. I don’t know what to do.
Wait, never mind, I found it. Forget my last comment which I deleted. At least they're letting the videos stay up, from the way people talked I thought all kid-friendly videos were going to be taken down.
Maybe they'll see the backlash and repeal it one day, I really don't see how this is going to make a difference with what happened. It was one incident that they'd have still found away around if this had been in effect.
From what I read a number of factors determine this. Like, a video of ponies swearing probably wouldn't be deemed "for kids", but any family-friendly video featuring ponies probably would be.
I'm not sure how to place my video of Renamon shooting Dr. Hax with a gun, but since guns were deemed too family-unfriendly in Digimon, as well as kids today probably not recognizing Renamon due to Digimon's obscurity (and apparently NSFW content of her being easy to stumble upon), I'm leaning towards "not made for kids".
