Season Three? (Spoiler Alert)

So if you've caught the first two episodes of the new season of My Little Pony: FIM then you'll probably already be up to speed on what's been happening. I just wanted to ask how'd you guys think they did for the first two? I think it was pretty good for the most part, the guy cast actually got some action for once instead of hanging back as usual, so I for one appreciated that bit. Also Spike finally got some credit for some stuff, but I wish they'd have done more with his whole heroic bit, but oh well, show writers, I ain't one of em.

Also I thought that even though King Sombra was supposed to be the bad guy of the whole thing, he really didn't seem that important. I mean it seemed like the whole episode could've just been written off as if they didn't recharge the ol' heart then maybe the Crystal Kingdom would've disappeared? I thought that would've made more sense, or at least go more in depth with Sombra.

But yeah, that's just my side of the thoughts I have, other than that it was a nice welcome since I've only been brony-fied since a few months ago during the summer. (Believe it or not Team Fortress 2 was the cause of me becoming a brony.) So how about your thoughts and criticisms?
