Guess what you guys? It me on a rant! Yay, how fun! But this isn't an I-hate-my-life-and-can't-write-now rant. It's one of my half baked theory.
My idea: Fact- Somba was banished about 1000 years ago. Luna was banished 1000 years ago.
My thought is that Luna loved Sombra, then he showed his true colors and enslaved he Cystal Empire. Heartbroken, Luna (and Celestia) banish him to said north. Bu not before she is impregnated with a certain love alicorn in her belly. She gives birth and shortly after, goes all Nightmare Moon. Celestia banishes her and takes care of Cadence.
Whaddya think?

Personally, I consider Cadence an Alicorn, so that fits nicely with my head-canon.
My friend had a Luna 1k and Sombra 1k correlation theory, as well. I personally didn't read too far into it, thinking it was just a half-baked number designed to make the viewer think: "It's a really long time" without going into the whole "Empires rose and fell, entire generations have passed without her/him, the very way of life has changed since her/his absence, blah blah blah GAK." spiel.
But I suppose fanfiction and detail-oriented fandoms like this─Think the Derpy Hooves X Muffins thing, it was one line. ONE─it's practically our job to see patterns and details like that. I'm still wondering how exactly "My nephew, Prince Blueblood." came about, though. I cannot wait to see what kind of irritating bastard it takes to sire a kid like that.

Snark aside, I suppose we just have to wait and see what non-toy obsessed canon that will soon be rolling our way within the next ten weeks.

it really makes sense now that i think of it, i havn't seen season 3 yet im still on season 2 episode 7. got alot to catch up on but it still makes sense in a weird way
