    incredibly sick

haven't been able to hit the computer much the past month. Got sick on labor day weekend, ended up with a bad case of pneumonia deep in my lungs. Despite it, I've been forcing myself to go to work overtime because... well, bills need to be paid.

I haven't disappeared, but I'm healing. be back soon, promise.

    Child rearing is oftentimes unpredictable.

TLA has only been delayed as I cannot access my files from where I am or when I'm home because of small children. Not mine, yet I suppose, but the little ones take a lot of time and attention and love. And food. So much food. My nieces are garbage disposals.

That was an Adventure through the Comics. TLA incoming.

Hey folks, just finished up a grand majority of the comics, and there was only one big plot point that rubbed up super hard against the story, so once I swap it out it'll be fine. I'll even drop off exactly what it was in the authors notes when it comes up and is no longer relavant to keep from you. Lucky me the plot didn't hinge on it(anymore- it was something important before but I minimized it

    Dude, where's my blogpost?

I made a blogpost on Friday talking about delaying the chapter a week while I catch up on pony lore in the comics, mainly because there's three things I want to do and I straight up don't want to do something that clashes entirely with what's going on with the characters.

Do you mind a comedy fic chapter without a lot of comedy? · 8:32pm Nov 11th, 2012

I mean, I'm laughing, but that may be the cause of the payoff that is to come from setting all these pieces up. I never really set out to make a fic that knows not but the laughs, but insofar I've packed each chapter with as many ha-has and character humor as I can... we're talking The Literary Appeal here, in case you're reading this and going 'Wait, but Discord just broke Aloe and Lotus' minds! What laughter is there?' to which I say, "Maaaan, I'm sorry. That was mean of me."

And then we all go out for apology ice cream. I'm getting Moose Tracks.

Anyway, the Literary Appeal is wrapping up it's first Act(of a three Act structure), and unfortunately I have a lot of info dumping to do before I feel confident with starting Act II. Thing is, I've run out of room to deliver a lot of this information! Original plan was actually to break to Canterlot every so often and tell some story there, but at the end of the week the chapters were short, but they told the story I wanted to tell, and any distractions away from Cheerilee and Twilight were just... distractions.

My outline is very, um... well it's certainly something else. I keep grabbing pieces and throwing them to the wind. It's a lot of fun and helps prove Dr. Malcom's Chaos Theory. Or something. I like the old dinosaurs. When they weren't chickens. What I'm saying is that Weird Al should cameo in ponies.

Oh, and also my point is that the next chapter is full of plot and wait this story has a plot?

Yes. In addition to kissing ponies, the story actually has a plot. It revolves around kissing ponies.

OH.

And Cheerimom. But she's a pony who kisses a lot of ponies so the distinction isn't necessary.

Writing would be so much easier without a job. Speaking of which, what does Cheerimom even do? Does Equestria have 401K plans? Any Economist want to look into the episodes and scrape something like that together? Not that I need it. I'm almost positive she just sets up a kissing booth in the center of Ponyville on market days. I'm pretty certain Ponyville has low property taxes.

who is your favorite egs character

If you are asking whether a pure exposition chapter would be fine, I say

EXPOSITION! GIVE IT TO ME!

Comedy is good and all, but plot development is even better. Anyone can make a story full of slapstick and awkward situations, a true author makes you laugh while truly caring about the characters.

I say: BRING IT ON! :pinkiehappy:

You'll probably want to weave in some minor, one-off gags in with the infodump.

Alternately, get Pinkie to proofread. That can't possibly end badly!:pinkiehappy:

Cheerimom is a Professional Embarrasser. She runs up to strange ponies and starts hanging out with them, and they give her money to go away.
