    Where are they?

It's been a constant trope for awhile now, and sadly, as time goes by, it tends to keep growing. As more and more years pass, we see what could be considered authoratorive gold start to crumble and slacken, sometimes even falling to the wayside never to be picked up again. There's just one thing I'm naming by talking about this: Stories, good ones.

Do not approach me with these under any circumstances

I have been an avid reader of humans turned pony or otherwise before being sent to Equestria, albeit with mixed results. Most of it has been positive, though plenty has been negative as of late. What I'm getting at are two specific tropes of story telling. Namely the first being "Friendship is Optimal" series, and the "Displaced" series. Now, to make you understand, I absolutely

I have plenty of stories on my tracking list that are left unfinished, heck, some of them have been sitting in my tracking library for a few YEARS. I know what you're going to say: There were extenuating circumstances, real life popped in un-announced, something serious was going on, work, school, etc and so forth. I know, real life is more important than sitting at a laptop and writing stories that pop into your head from your idea of how things might look, or happen from your thoughts. However, maybe when you have down time, and aren't so bogged down with reality, when you want to escape, or do something with the wonderful story you've created, why not crack those knuckles and start typing? Not only that, but these beloved fan-based tales have quite a bit of an audience, we; want to see more added to our favorites, we like seeing where a new chapter will take us. Good, bad, doesn't matter. The point is finishing the project you started; and sure you might get criticism, but that can also be "constructive criticism". A way for you to be shown your flaws and where you need improvement.
However, many times in recent weeks, months, even a few years, stories have been started and created, only for them to be left alone, in the dark, like an abandoned puppy just waiting for mom or dad to care for them again. I cannot tell you how many times a story has left me feeling hooked, excited, eager, and smiling....only for it all to disappear once I reach the comment section. Because more often than not, I see comments that the story is dead, or I see how long it's been since the most recent comment and become sad. Such great works of art from your minds, and you left your creation to the wayside..?

Please, if you find the time, or have the effort, I urge you to resume your great works. You have fans that love what you write, and like me, they hate to see them fall of your radar into obscurity. Let their words and tales be heard!

I do my best in this regard, but it's a lot harder to pick up an old story than simply sitting down and writing. You have to reread everything up to that point, and then recapture the spark, and that can be very hard.

In the worst case scenario, you hate what you've done on reread, and the spark is lost to you forever.

Still, I wish more folks had the opportunity to pick back up their old works.
