    The Best CMC Story

There's a series of six chapter books known as Ponyville Mysteries. I highly recommend them, and they even fit the Nightmare Night atmosphere! They have characters staring into the face of death, and lore, and an overarching plotline. It's the CMC at their best.

That's all I've got to say right now.

    A Confession...

I hadn't watched most of season 8 or any of season 9 until a few weeks ago, nor any of G5 until this week, due to horrible anxiety. (Yes, anxiety about watching a tv show I want to watch. My brain is messed up.) So in no particular order, I need to get out some thoughts.

    Spike's Magic

I'm watching through the show again, and noticed a lore thing that I thought was worth making note of. In Spike at Your Service (yes, that horrible episode where Spike is depicted as clumsy and incapable of things like cooking and cleaning that he's been shown to be skilled at in most other episodes), Spike has this personal "Spike the Dragon Code" card. But what's interesting is where it

    Isn't It Funny...

...When you're just looking at the latest stories, and suddenly there's a propagandist promotion of an extremist who advocates against democracy and openly admires the worst dictator in history in the description of what you naively thought was a shipping story?

...When an avowed Communist asks for money as though that isn't inherently hypocritical?

Blogging. Blogblogblog. It sounds like an onomatopoeia. Or is that just me? Anyhow, time for the big real life news. President Obama won the election. But the BIG news is: It's snowing! Woohoo!

Now for an update on my site related efforts. Today was the first time in three days I had time to sit down and read something. I have not written anything in that time. I will finish writing the now hopelessly belated Halloween story. I just can't garauntee that will be anytime soon. In the meantime, I have been brainstorming for a universe hopping epic...that won't require a human tag. Imagine that. You'll have to, because knowing me, I'll never get the idea down. Oh, well.

And last but not least, it's only three days 'till season 3! But don't get your hopes up. Seriously, if I look at it logically, keeping my hopes down makes perfect sense. I'm not being pessimistic, I can see the season being good, even great. But look at the possibilities. Option 1: It's horrid. In this case, it would be good to have low hopes so that you're not thoroughly disappointed. So option one favors low expectations. Option 2: It's awesome. In this case, maybe other people are different, but I personally would get more joy if I went into it with low hopes and was pleasently suprised then if I went into it with high hopes and the show just touches the high bar I've set. So, for me at least, option 2 also favors low expectations. There are other options, of course, but I won't go over them. This exercise shows that both possibilities are better if I have low expectations. If anypony reads this, maybe I've given them a revelation too. Or maybe I've convinced them I'm nuts. That seems to be enough for now.

May you be awoken in the night by a lumpy sack of pure gold that has appeared in your bed.
