80 Years of Batman · 2:51am Mar 30th, 2019
Hey guys. Wow...eighty fricken years. Batman has been around for that fricken long. He's had so many stories told through comics, movies, cartoons, video games. So many years. Now, as many of you know, I am a hardcore Batman fan, but have you ever wondered how I became one?
Well, when I was about six to seven years old, there was a moment where I wanted a favorite superhero. Of course there were options like Superman, Spider-Man, and many others. But one superhero I just so casually chose in that moment was, you guessed it, Batman.
I don't know what it was that made my enthusiasm for Batman increase, but there were times when I would never shut up about it. Well, that and Star Wars. But my total geekdom for Batman began when I got the Lego Batman video game for my birthday.
Now, beforehand, there were already some Batman characters I already knew. Such as Batman (of course), Robin, the Joker, the Penguin, Catwoman, and that's about it. But this game introduced me to a whole lot of knew villains that have became my favorites like Harley Quinn, the Riddler, Two-Face, Scarecrow, and many others. I played the game
non-stop and I truly loved it.
Now my grow into being a Batman fan didn't end there, I started watching the Burton/Schumacher films and someone who was a friend of my mom's let me borrow a DVD that had episodes of TAS on it. I also began watching TAS episodes that someone has posted on Youtube, but we're most likely taken down, because I can't find them.
Now, I still read the comics and find ways to watch TAS. Overall, I loved Batman, not just the franchise, but also the character itself growing up and I will never stop loving that character. Thank you Lego Batman: The Videogame for making me into the Batman fan I am today.
Same Bat-Time. Same Bat-Channel.
Hell yeah
