Apology to Captain Marvel · 1:31am Mar 24th, 2019
I was in the wrong. That's just what I needed, wanting to know if I was in the wrong for not wanting to watch Captain Marvel. Thanks to a friend, I realized my error. I can't do justice on explaining, since a friend of mine sums it up well.
Not wanting to watch the film is on you. I'm saying that holding the entire film to Larson's word is petty. Is it wrong? Mayhaps not, that's entirely subjective. But simply not wanting to see it over that feels silly.
Stan's account was a dumb move, that I can't argue with.
I'm not trying to make you feel bad, but I think your reaction is unnecessarily extreme. You've gotta dial it back and realize that everyone's political views can't stop you from enjoying mindless entertainment. If I did that, I'd never enjoy Last Week Tonight because I think John Oliver is wildly wrong on many fronts. That said, the show is a goddamn riot.
Yeah. I get it. I pretty much get it. Yes, Brie's SJW views are bad, but I overreacted for not wanting to watch the movie. Focus more on the entertaiment. Besides, the whole movie had bad marketing. That's something I thought before. The movie was badly managed in terms of marketing, but the final product overall would not be like the way they marketed it. Heck, one friend of mine said that the movie won't have Brie's political views. That, and that in the movie they did a tribute to Stan Lee that was well received. Probably in regards to the Twitter account, the guy who posted the Twitt in Stan's account was fired. Don't know, but at least they gave Stan the tribute he deserved in the movie itself.
I'm so sorry, Captain Marvel. I misjudged you, not seeing you as an actual entertaiment product. I wish the director of Shazam would see this. And a big thanks to my friend. Thank you for your words.
Now, after this, I think I'm going to watch Captain Marvel. One day maybe, not now. I will see Captain Marvel as a character, not as Brie Larson.
I think what that guy said was pretty smart. I likely won't watch it, but I think people should be able to enjoy things without the culture war effecting it.
