Coming Soon to FanFiction… · 7:19pm Mar 23rd, 2019
Not too long ago, I had an idea pop into my head while reading an old Spyro comic online, right after playing through Metroid Prime 3 for the second time in quite a while. One that just kept on festering at the back of my mind — like an itch I can't quite scratch because it's just out of reach. Just recently, I've begun writing it down with the intention of posting it over on FanFiction.Net, and I've decided to give you all a sneak peek of the prologue to see whether or not this endeavor is worth my while.
Bump-bump…
Bump-bump…
Bump-bump…
A heartbeat was all he could hear… His own…
Bump-bump…
He felt as if he was floating in something… A fluid of sorts… yet he didn’t feel as if he was drowning… The sensation was… odd… His wings felt cramped… His scales were itchy from the liquid…
Bump-bump…
He felt… trapped… He could sense there was something beyond the liquid, keeping him inside… He sensed multiple beings beyond that as well… They were… moving… What were they…?
Bump-bump…
WRAAA!!! WRAAA!!! WRAAA!!! WRAAA!!!
Suddenly, a loud blaring noise rang through the fluid, and his closed eyes were overtaken by bright red. He cringed instinctually inside the liquid, both from the glow and the sound. The beings on the other side went into a panic as they moved erratically. One of them moved out of the range of his perception… then rapidly moved back within, before it was suddenly extinguished without warning. His tail twitched as he wondered if that one had been killed.
A new being came within range of his perception with one of its arms pointed forward, and for some strange reason, this newcomer felt oddly familiar to him. It and the other beings he could sense were moving around even more erratically now, and soon enough another of the remaining first beings was extinguished, and then another, and another, until only the newcomer remained. After a few moments, the being approached him with its arm directed at him. Hesitantly, he opened one eye, and through the murky green liquid and past the glass, he saw…
…her.
Well done, my friend!
