Background Info on SBitEF: On the nature of my 'ponies' · 6:45pm Nov 6th, 2012
I am starting a series which should comprise my entire work here on FiMFiction.net. The series is called "Sexual Behavior in the Equine Female". The format of all of these stories is that my original character, Gale Wind, is researching what Equestrians do behind closed doors. In order to clean up intros and to streamline questions on the series, I'm going to make a few blog posts regarding the story, to clear up any misconceptions.
This will be in its own humanized world. Characters maintain their race/breed's unique characteristics as long as it does not alter the human skeleton beyond adding to it and their skin remains flesh not fur (For instance, a griffon would keep their wings; there are bones in the wings, but this is merely adding. They would not have a beak, as this would require an altered skull to function. All tails are kept.). This world is almost identical to the canon MLP:FiM universe, except where logical changes are made due to humanoid form; seating is more prevalent, for example, and since everyone has hands, certain things are altered. Speech is altered as little as possible; ponies are still ponies, locations still have 'horse' names, hair is referred to as 'mane'. The only exceptions is with obviously incompatible concepts; hands are not hooves, neither are feet.
To clarify, since someone did ask; pegasus wings wings do have bones. But the wing bones are not alterations of bone systems in the human anatomy... more of an addition. There might be some... slight alteration... shoulder blade maybe. But if you amputated a pegasus' wings, (my story's pegasus, that is), it would just be like the earth sort. If you removed the beak from a anthropomorphised griffin... that would be something really horrifying. Think the spitter from L4D2.
Most important is I plan on writing to be as inclusive as possible. I'll be frank, I just can't write something sexy with characters in pony or anthro form. But, I do not want to exclude people who prefer that. If that is what you enjoy, I want your to still be able to enjoy my stories. My hope is that if you want to see them as pony or anthro that it should be possible with little to break the thought.
To some extension to this thinking, since I've been asked 'how can you call it equine when they are humanized' and such, I will explain a little of the deeper history. For reasons not yet explained (and ones the characters do not know), the races in my world were once their pony forms. Somehow... magic, evolution, miracle (or curse), a long long time ago, they became their current humanized form. Still, it is in their DNA and culture conscious. To them, they are ponies... and buffalo, and griffins, and zebras. A bit of this can be seen in the Fluttershy chapter "Alpha Lesson". What we refer to as 'missionary' in their world is... somewhat kinky. It is called 'monkey style' (so named as it is one of the few species that does have sex like this from time to time). The standard sexual position is the same as one would expect from equines. So much so that this is what they refer to as 'missionary'.
