MLP Season 9 confirmed to be the last season

Wow, we're getting a lot of news these past two days. First the announcement of a standalone CGI MLP movie in 2021 and now this.

Sadly, yes. The show will officially end with Season 9.

On one hand, it's been a heck of a ride since I first started watching in mid-2013 and I'll be sad to see it go. Though on the other, the show has been running itself into the ground these past couple of seasons so it's best it stops before it really goes down the plughole.

Yeah, it's a mixed bag of news all right.
On the one hand (or hoof) if you will, the show is ending, and that is a sad thing, since it means no more new (official) stories of this generation.
On the other, it's better that they wrap it now, instead of potentially letting it really go down the crapper and turn into a franchise zombie.

And hey, hopefully, there'll still be good stories made on this site after FiM finishes up. The community won't just vanish.

It was bound to happen. Glad the series is getting an ending rather than becoming another Simpsons.
