In Memorandum: Stan Lee (1922-2018) · 1:57am Nov 13th, 2018

R.I.P.

Stan Lee

December 28, 1922 - November 12, 2018.

The comic and fandom world has lost it's own 'Uncle Ben' today.

Born Stanley Martin Lieber, Stan Lee, became the one of the cornerstones of the comic industry for over half a century and the expansion of great storytelling that we here among the FiMFiction community aspire to.

"With Great Power, comes Great Responsibility", was probably his most iconic line of thought. Yet it was through his introduction of humanly flawed characters possessed of great abilities that he made his mark on the comic industry and the entertainment world at large. This concept that heroes should not be flawless beings placed on pedestals that both made the characters he created relatable to the reader, and taught us no matter who we are, mighty or meek, that we all have hurdles in life to overcome.

Godspeed and Safe Journey, Mr. Lee. You have duly earned you eternal rest, peace be with you as you ascend 'ever upward' into heaven, or as you liked to say,

Excelsior.
