    Bucket List Results

Remember the spring break bucket list I posted about a month ago? Well, it's time to look at the results. And I'd say I did quite well. Especially if you consider how much I added since the initial post. Who knows, I might be able to cross off a few more the next couple days, as my initial plan to be already playing Persona 5 Royal at this point took quite a hit.

    Goddammit Nintendo

Just casually releasing a new Direct.
And only half-revealing the next Smash fighter. Though I'm glad for the franchise.

Marwile watches SAOhgodwhy Part 12 "Villain ex Machina" · 9:51pm Oct 19th, 2018

Today was a momentous day in german anime history. After 12 years we finally got new dubbed episodes of Detective Conan. I've been waiting for more than half of my life for that. One of my childhood wishes has been fulfilled. I didn't even know they stopped halfway through a five-parter. But all good has to come to an end, which is why I'm back with SAO.

And frankly I have no idea what's going on anymore. I can't understand the logic of these characters. Kirito uses the satellite scan (why even bother) and notices that one more player is mysteriously missing and might be dead and theorizes that DG has more than one accomplice. They also think DG will now focus on Yamikaze, who is known as the best player on the server. He's also the only one that really knows the value of speed.
Alright these two make some sense, but it gets weirder soon.

They argue for a few seconds who takes on who until they settle on Kirito being bait for DG while Sinon shoots Yamikaze, who'll probably attack him too. Also if Sinon kills him, DG can't. So while Kirito just stands there in the middle of the desert and tries to feel DG's murderous intent (because he can do that now [also this is still a video game goddammit]). Sinon beats Yamikaze offscreen and Kirito barely manges to dodge DG's sniper shot, which then proceeds to split a tower in half, because logic. Then Sinon and DG target each other and we get that clishee bullets-nearly-hit-each-other-moment before said bullets destroy each other's rifles.

Throughout all of this Kirito tries to remember the Laughing Coffin raid, because somehow he knows that the first guy he fought back then is also Deathgun and they could find him if they have his original nickname. Now it's Kirito vs Deathgun, who now packs out that long needle-like stab weapon whose name I can't spell for the life of me (also can't you only carry two weapons?). He also says he made it himself because apparently weapon crafting is suddenly also a thing in this game, like invisibility cloaks and robot horses. But surprise, in a series first DG is actually faster than Kirito (or he has The World for all that the author cares) and wounds him.

Asuna visits Kirito's body in the hospital and they watch the battle from there. She immediately recognizes DG's name and weapon of choice. Remember that the german dub changed DG's nickname from Sterben to Mortis, but didn't bother with the texts. So it's totally hilarious for me when the nurse explains the meaning of his latin name while the sreen zooms in onto his german name.

Kirito and DG have the usual pre battle banter, where DG tells how much he hates Kirito and the latter reveals they figured out DG's plan and will find him once they find out his original nickname. But in a big plot twist DG reveals that Kirito can't remember his name, because he never told him, because Kirito said he didn't want to hear it!

And then DG just continues stabbing Kirito with his weapon and the episode ends. Yeah... I'm really bad at ending these blogs I realized.

So... why does DG hate Kirito?
No, wait, stupid question. :rainbowlaugh:

No, but seriously, why? Is it because Kirito killed his Nakamas, or because he didn't ask his name?

Now that you mention it, he never gave an actual reason. I think we're just supposed to assume the reason is that Kirito never allowed him to brag with his super edgy nickname.

Or maybe it's because Kirito is playing with the girl that turned him down IRL.

Yeah, all the reasons I can come up with are very petty or stupid.

It's been a while since I watched it but I believe the general idea was that he was pissed off at Kirito for viewing him as nothing, a nobody, someone so insignificant they aren't even worth remembering.

Death Gun is basically the type of person who wants the attention and saw Kirito's attitude towards him as a personal insult.
