Marwile watches SAO 1+1 Part 8 "The Bullet of Bullets"

Another episode of SAO, another time me questioning the life choices that led to this. I also just watched the Asuna vs Orie One Minute Melee. The outcome was obvious from the start.

So the last episode ended with Sinon ready to face off with Kirito and wanting to defeat him. This episode they're back to being buddy-buddy. Or rather OPnoob-edgelord. She's answering all of Kirito's questions about the tournament because he didn't bother to read the rules. I know this is just an excuse for exposition, but seriously, how did this guy become so good despite never putting effort into anything?

Since then the battle royal shooter genre exploded, so you all you know how it works, except without random pickups and the storm. There's also the satellite scan that shows everyone's position every fifteen minutes. Don't worry I'll come back to it later. There's plenty wrong with it. Also Kirito tried to act like a cute girl again. It was terrible. And Why?!

At least Kirito does one smart thing. Because Deathgun only become active after the last tournament he asks Sinon if there are any new names in the lineup and she finds three. I'm leaning very far out of the window and say it's the guy named Sterben (german for to die). Hmm, wasn't there someone else with an ominous german username?

The tournament starts and after some random battle footage we cut to Sinon trying to snipe a guy that tries to ambush someone by openly lying on a bridge. Kirito stops her at the last moment asking her to help him. She reluctantly agrees and they just watch the guy lying on the bridge.

And here they notice the big problem with the satellite scan... well for us it's a problem, they just shrug off. The scan only shows the people out in the open air, if you're underwater or in a cave or probably even in a building you're essentially invisible. Fairness, what a joke.

So they continue watching as another masked guy appears and dodges everything the guy on the bridge shoots at him with crazy acrobatics. Remember the first episode where someone said you don't need speed in a shooter? The masked guy finally defeats bridge guy (he deserved it) and Kirito and Sinon continue watching, the former wondering if that masked guy is Deathgun.

Then the guy is suddenly hit by a gunshot and doesn't stand up. Turns out he was hit by a paralyze shot (did they ever mention these things exist in the game? I don't think so) and the real Deathgun appears. While Sinon geeks out about his super strong sniper rifle that nobody else in the game owns (hey, that's Kirito's shtick) Deathgun takes out his pistol and gets ready to shoot. The episode ends with Kirito shouting at Sinon that she has to shoot Deathgun before he shoots the other guy.

I'm pretty sure I missed something like Sinon butt shots or naked underwater Kirito, but I was interrupted so often while typing that I don't care anymore. Have a nice day.
