Marwile watches SAO II Part 3 "How does PTSD work?"

Spent most of the week working on my SSC entry and am close to finishing it. As a side effect I'm getting sick of typing, so let's try to keep it short again.

We meet the RL version of Sinon, Shino Asada, who is bullied by her classmates, because she has a phobia of guns. That's bad why? Last time I checked this wasn't America, are guns so important in Japan? She meets Kyoji, a friend who introduced her to GGO. According to OP-logic he'll either be killed by Deathgun or is Deathgun himself. Guess which one it is... They also mention him studying medicine. Hint. HINT.

She returns home and we get her backstory as a flashback. When she was young a robber threatened her mother with a gun. Shino attacked him to protect her mother and picked up the gun when he let it fall. The robber attacked her to get it back and during the scuffle a shot got accidentally released, hitting him. He stood up to attack her again and she shot him in self-defense. He tried to stand up again and she shot him again, this time a perfect headshot. Since then her mother hated her. She just saved your life and got heavily traumatized by it, you should drown her in love. (I heard the light novel implied she was already a bit crazy to begin with, but not here)

She tries to pick up and hold a model gun, but fails, because her PTSD triggers. And here's my problem. Sinon plays GGO to overcome her gun phobia. I see no way how this could affect her life in any negative way, but she wants to do it so... She explains how she can hold and use guns as Sinon without a problem. There's probably something about disassociation at play here (please give me some slack, I'm not a psychiatrist), though I still might be able to call a bit bullshit, because it's unclear how virtual reality plays into this. Now Shino's PTSD triggered when she was holding a handgun replica, but not when she was watching them in a magazine. It could be possible she only reacts to a certain type of gun, but she never specifies and only talks about guns in general. Not to mention she clearly reacted to a classmate pointing a fingergun at her. In my opinion her PTSD is completely inconsistent. That's nearly worse than Samus in Other M.

Let's go to Kirito. He just told Asuna of his plans, who's understandably concerned. Also because he'd be forced to delete his ALO account to make a GGO account. Imagine all Nintendo games sharing one single save slot, that's how dumb this is. He then goes to the hospital, where the agent already prepared a room for Kirito to observe him while playing. He undresses for the electrodes (and the girls were... unimpressed). He starts the game and the episode ends.

And next week we'll get FemKirito. And nobody was excited.
