WARNING: There be spoilers (at least for Smolder's story)

"One winter a Farmer found a Viper frozen and numb with cold, and out of pity picked it up and placed it in his bosom. The Viper was no sooner revived by the warmth than it turned upon its benefactor and inflicted a fatal bite upon him; and as the poor man lay dying, he cried, 'I have only got what I deserved, for taking compassion on so villainous a creature.'"

Aesop's Fables, "The Farmer and the Viper"

Upon watching and listening to Smolder's tale, this fable came to mind; with Scales being compared to the Viper, and the Dragon Lord the Farmer. While Smolder's tale was tamer, since the usurped Dragon Lord didn't die, the outcome still involved a dangerous creature taking advantage of another's kindness.
I don't know how many people thought of this comparison after watching the episode, so I just thought I'd share my thoughts anyway.

Sidenote: Apparently dragons like stories about the strong surpassing the weak and kind. Something tells me dragons would love Greek tragedies and the Poetic Edda. Or A Song of Ice and Fire.
