I saw Rollercoaster of Friendship. In truth, I didn't enjoy it as much as some of the others, but I did still enjoy it. There are some things I want to focus on a little, though.
- I don't know if it was my imagination or the influence of the fandom, but I got strong romantic feelings between Applejack and Rarity. Applejack getting jealous of how close Valencia suddenly was to Rarity, while not the healthiest thing, was somewhat reminiscent of the common idea of a romantic partner getting protective of someone they love because another person seems interested in them.
- Interesting, and a bit ironic, that human Rainbow Dash either has a fear of heights, or of rollercoasters. Meanwhile, Equestrian Rainbow Dash seems to love both. We have her constantly flying and doing stunts, as well as going up to clouds to sleep, and living in or visiting Cloudsdale, which is a city that floats in the air.
- Considering her reaction after the rollercoaster, I think we should have some adrenaline junkie Fluttershy stories. Just imagine it: the shy, timid, and easily frightened girl doing things like bungee jumping, skydiving, or other extreme events. Plus, the surprise to her friends when they find out about her doing them.
Hm looks like I'm not the only one who got major RariJack vibes from this. But it also felt like a rip off (if not an alternate or continuation) of Mirror Magic....well the only difference in that is Juniper trapped the girls in her mirror and while we thought the girls were trapped in Valencia's phone, they turned out to just be sent to a random room in Equestria Park (which felt like a cop out).
But then it also goes to show that if you live your whole life behind a phone screen and create a persona for everyone else to see, you ultimately create a monster who just craves attention and perfection....also...massive product placement with the whole SnapGap thing
