I'm ending the penultimate day of the month having written 1,064 words - only 72 off from my goal! Part of me does want to just keep pushing and hit 29k before I got to bed, but... 
I kinda also wanna just leave it there, and push for an even 30k total tomorrow. So I'll do that, with the excuse that I'm still not entirely certain that I know what comes next at the point I'm at in the chapter.
Even though I find myself unsatisfied with not reaching the goal even still. Oh well.
Current total for the month is 28,928!
You've still done extremely well and at the end of the day, the goal is there to help you write. Some works require a few less words, but having that goal to strive for allows you to bring out the best you can and feel like you accomplished something even if you didn't fully meet it. But hey, you still got a day left, so maybe tomorrow will allow you to still meet the 30k quota. I wish you luck. ^_^
