Blogs are not my Thing · 4:48pm Apr 24th, 2018
I have always wanted to write. I have, on occasion, been able to demonstrate that I even have some meager skills at writing. (First story to be posted soon - so nervouscited!)
But, in truth, I hate blogs.
I was talking with my son about a particular play he made during a pee-wee soccer game. (I am old; deal with it.) He kept leading the conversation back to that play so that he could talk about how awesome he was.
So: no one likes that guy, right? The guy who can't wait to tell me how awesome he is, is the guy I immediately write off as a liar. It's just a contrary thing I do. I have long held, and encourage my son to consider as well, the belief that if something you did was awesome then other people will volunteer that information and you don't have to do a thing. And, if what you did was *not* awesome, then its best to keep quiet about it.
Everybody wins, under those rules.
So, I don't like blogs because I don't like talking myself up. I can't get past it. I might start using this space to talk about how *other* authors are awesome. Maybe we'll go with that for a bit.
