An established Timeline · 5:25pm Apr 14th, 2018

Hello to you all my readers,
After thinking and brainstorming, as well as hearing some of you wanting more information, I have put together a crude skeleton of the Timeline of my story Dusk and Rune. Now these are ALL that happens before Season 1. So If you would like more details, please let me know and I would be happy to elaborate, as I still need to put in the finer details. But for now, enjoy the Timeline.

Huh, cool. Just a couple notes.

Thysia uses her “Light”, now called Magic to help the planet spin, giving the impression she can raise and lower the Sun. She raised and lowers the Moon.

If it really is just the power of rotation, and she's doing all that... I'm pretty sure centrifugal force wouldn't be enough to save them from that.

Sombra rules over the Crystal Empire unopposed until he is defeated by the joint efforts of Celestia and Luna. But the battle caused deep mental scars of the Alicorns.

Sombra's not that old, though. Like, at all. Doesn't make much sense for his character, either.

Celestia and Luna emerge from their hiding, feeling the time had come to rejoin the Ponies and help them; settling in the Castle of the Sisters.

It's called the Castle of the Two Sisters.

Cadance, daughter to Commander Hurricane and Private Patsy is adopted by Celestia and raised into an Alicorn, taken as well as Celestia’s student and niece.

Isn't there that theory where Cadance is actually a fragment of Princess Amore? Also, if she's really that old, she must've had the most awkward growth spurt of all time.

My lore does not follow the show's canon 100%, but more like 75%, with the last 25% being my own mixes, ideas, and clop scenes. But to clarify your owther comments:
1. That scene from season 4 is removed as the princesses never gave their powers to dusk.
2. Sombra is in fact that old as i am not using any comic material as canon, i am only going with the show and movies as my source of canon info.
3. Amd cadance did have an awkward growth spurt because the alicornification was not yet perfected. And she was made an alicorn when she was basically a child. So now from the age of basically 10, her body physically aged like an alicorn. So by the time she marries Armor, her body had finally matured to that of an 18-20 year old.

So what, he's just a generic, evil unicorn who can turn to smoke for no reason again? I suppose that also means the events of Season 7 that are intertwined directly into The Legends of Magic are non-canon as well?

That sounds like a huge can of bullshit to me. So she ages normally for her first 10 years of life, ages 6 years in the span of almost 10,000... but then after she babysits Twilight, she ages normally again.
That's a long way to go to justify her being ancient for no reason.

2. Sombra has been sealed away twice and as we have seen in show, those sealed away do not show sign if aging, and his shadow form is explained as it is a part of his heritage. But not from some dark cryatal, but as the great grandson of the Alicorn of Fear who can become a living shadow. As for the Legends of Magic comic stories are not canon in my lore but the stories told during the season episodes are canon.

3. Cadance's aging is roughly 1/1000th the speed of an average growth. So every 1000 years to her phsycially shows only 1 years worth of growth. So when she was made an alicorn, she was 10, by the time of the wedding, she would be 20. As for the difference between how she looked babysitting vs when she is shown at the wedding, it can be just as explained as how Luna looked when she was free of nightmare moon vs how she looked during her debut later on.

Sombra has been sealed away twice and as we have seen in show, those sealed away do not show sign if aging,

He got sealed once, and he was expelled the second time.

But not from some dark cryatal

... You do know what Umbrum are, right? These things?
buffy.mlpforums.com/monthly_03_2016/post-27206-0-81413900-1459260764.jpg
The malevolent forces that the Crystal Heart is supposed to protect the world from, the opposite of the ponies of shining crystal; ones of shadow and smoke? The dark crystal is just a gateway between the real world, and the world the Umbrum were sealed away to, and Sombra is essentially a collaborative effort among the Umbrum to destroy the Crystal Heart, and free them so that they can take over the world, in which there would be no emotions for Changelings to feed on...
But whatever, I guess he could just be another unicorn with a lust of power who's on par with real alicorns despite being an eighth-blood, who can arbitrarily be defeated by an artifact with no background whatsoever; that's much more interesting.

As for the Legends of Magic comic stories are not canon in my lore but the stories told during the season episodes are canon.

Right, except those comics are directly linked into the events of Season 7 (including the Sirens being sealed away). If you don't consider the comics canon, that essentially renders the entire season non-canon as well.
Also, Clover the Clever was Starswirl the Bearded's apprentice. If Starswirl sealed himself away ten million years ago, how could Cadence be the daughter of Commander Hurricane and Private Pansy (compatriots of Clover) if they lived only ten-thousand years ago?

it can be just as explained as how Luna looked when she was free of nightmare moon vs how she looked during her debut later on.

Two things.
One, the general consensus of the difference in appearance in regards to Luna, is that it took her a season to recover her powers after having been hit by the Elements of Harmony. Even then, it could just be chocked up to a redesign taking place after the animators thought "Hey, maybe we can do something cooler" (like Rainbow Dash's father).
Two. Those two appearances of Cadence debuted on the same episode.
So in the first case, why would Cadance have her powers sealed away, and have it take ten years before she regains her full glory as opposed to about a year.
And in the second case... why would Hasbro redesign a character in the same episode, unless it was to convey that they're different ages? This isn't Steven Universe.

Within my lore, Sombra is sealed away twice before his return in Season 3. These shadow creatures do not exist in my lore. The Crystal Heart is given a much different backstory, and I also explain how Sombra despite being 1/8th alicorn can go toe to toe with other Alicorns.

The episodes of the Pillars, their stories and such that mention the sirens are shown in the season, and thus then can exist in my lore. Whatever images, scenes, or moments that happen in the comic, regardless of how it connects to the show doesnt change the fact that the show has shown enough for what has been displayed to exist in my lore. As for Clover, as a Unicorn she and many of her kind can utilize magic, provided magic is their affinity, to delay and slow aging. As it has been shown that Starswirl has developed a time travel spell, so it would be just as plausable that the unicorn that studied under him may use a similar spell to keep themself from aging. While the pegasus and earth ponies of the three tribes do not have such a resource and are not as old as the unicorns.
Cadance's development is explained, and how she looks so different from babysitting to wedding can as well be contributed to the maturing od her powers. As you have stated, Luna may have required a season to regain enough power to make such a visual change. So, with that in mind, if Cadance's power matured, would she not go though a somewhat similar development?

Within my lore, Sombra is sealed away twice before his return in Season 3.

So the first time was just for kicks (where he chillaxes for to million years), but the second time was when he decided to get serious (wherein he comes up with a plan and executes it upon being sealed for a thousand years)? That's a believable character motivation.

These shadow creatures do not exist in my lore.

And yet, an Alicorn of Fear does. Yeah, let's not do what you did for the other races in Equestria who have alicorn forebearers, and add to the already-existing lore by saying that he's merely the progenitor of the Umbrum in some fashion (and Sombra's still his great-grandson), let's just amputate the source material and give it a shoddy prosthetic, hoping no one can tell the difference.

As for Clover, as a Unicorn she and many of her kind can utilize magic, provided magic is their affinity, to delay and slow aging.

*He.
Right, because if anything, the guy who looks like this
vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/7/76/Star_Swirl_the_Bearded_ID_S7E26.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/200?cb=20171012212227
Is someone who can not only live for millions of years, but can also prevent himself from looking old in the slightest.
Because that's totally a thing that people with magic can do, and it's not completely unreasonable in the slightest.

As it has been shown that Starswirl has developed a time travel spell, so it would be just as plausable that the unicorn that studied under him may use a similar spell to keep themself from aging.

Travelling from one time period to another (temporarily, mind you), is not the same as biologically halting any kind of growth or decay within a person's body. Those are two different ballparks. That's like saying I could use the same properties of driving a car, and use it to make a kind of skin cream that gets rid of wrinkles, and then explain how it's possible by saying "Durrr, magic".

While the pegasus and earth ponies of the three tribes do not have such a resource and are not as old as the unicorns.

vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/3/38/Granny_Smith_ID_S2E06.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/225?cb=20111213195959
Aside from that one character who was present for the founding of Ponyville.
Every pony has magic, they just exercise it in different ways; Unicorns can channel it through their horns, Pegasi can channel it through their wings, and Earth Ponies can channel it through their strength and intuition. If a unicorn can live for millions of years (not hundreds, not thousands, but millions) based off talent alone, then I'm sure a Pegasus or Earth Pony could do something of a similar means if they're equally talented. Because you know. "Durrr, magic".

Cadance's development is explained, and how she looks so different from babysitting to wedding can as well be contributed to the maturing od her powers.

Oh right, I totally forgot. In 9,995 years, you can't master your own power. But five years after that? Totally handled.

So, with that in mind, if Cadance's power matured, would she not go though a somewhat similar development?

No.
Luna was sealed away for a thousand years, and took a year to recover from the Elements of Harmony being blasted in her face. Because, presumably, she would've had her powers under control before then, and all it'd take after a blast that merely affects her aggression, she would recover from it naturally.
But a character who's existed for 10,010 years who hasn't figured out her powers for more than 99.9% of her current life (99% of 10,010 is 9,999.9, so there's still ten years to allot), but can suddenly figure out how to do it in the extra 0.01 (and this isn't a mere weakened state, it's her normal form growing older a thousand times faster than she normally does)? That's completely ridiculous.
Besides that, Shining Armor was the same way at that age
vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/6/6a/Shining_Armor_younger_ID_S2E25.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/180?cb=20130812111537
Are you telling me that he's actually the unicorn son of Princess Platinum and Smart Cookie, but became an alicorn at age 10 and slowly aged for ten thousand years before he suddenly mastered his powers and aged normally (while his wings are invisible the whole time)? Of course not. He just aged normally. Like Cadance.
It's not that hard to just say "Oh, well she's descended from Hurricane and Pansy, and she became an alicorn at age 10 (presumably from her account in the Chapter Books), and ages normally." Hell, you could just do it like what they did with the Saiyans, and say that they just age up until they become the pinnacle of health, where they've essentially got eternal youth for the rest of their lives. Otherwise, you've doomed Flurry Heart to 3,000 years of diaper changes.

Face it man, your work needs some re-tuning.

1. Sombra's motivation is control and domination. During the first time he was sraled, the seal weared out and grew weaker with time. When he was sealed the second time, he was not sealed in the same method and thus it only lasted 1000 years.

2. Just because an Alicorn of Fear exists, does not require "shadow creatures" to exist. So I feel the creatures are unnecessary.

3. Clover the Clever is female in my lore. And magic capable of delaying the physical aging process is not as unbelievable when magic that can alter reality, bend time, open dimensional rifts, as well as a number of other things exist.

4. Yes, all three pony kind use magic from one means to another. Pegasus can fly and manipulate the weather. Earth are stronger and are better at agriculture. But unicorns are the only of the three that can extend their magic outwards in a manner that is more visible through some magical aura.

5. Magical development, just like any form of growth and development are handled differently. No different than a human growing a foot in height practically over night. Sudden and unexpected and or unexplained growth spurts can occur.

6. Cadance was not unaware of her magic and suddenly had access to it, but rather practiced and let it develop. As for Flurry, she follows the rules similar to Celestia and Luna. As Flurry is a natural born Alicorn and not an artificially made one like Cadance.

7. While I thank you for your well thought out opinions and questions, I would like to polietly and respectfully remind you that this is. A base skeleton and thus susceptible to any and all forms of added details, changes, tweaks, and or modifications.

Wow, I had no idea you came up with all of this lore just for a series about Dusk and Rune. :twilightoops:

4840278
Thank you, I have more details, but this is the basic skeleton. If I can get more artists to help with images, Id make a Wikipedia for it

4840270

Sombra's motivation is control and domination.

Yes, control and domination, which was brought about because of... what? His great-grandad was a guy whose head got too big for his britches, and his rebellion lead to him getting put down, with Solaris following in his stead in terms of mortality. But rather than get sore about it, Sombra decided to become a pursuer of knowledge, to the point where he was allowed in the Alicorn Whatsit Council... and you're telling me he just woke up one day wanting to control and dominate things from some kinda non-specific corruption? I'm sorry, but it seems pretty weak.

Just because an Alicorn of Fear exists, does not require "shadow creatures" to exist.

Under that logic, because an Alicorn of Yaks already exists, it does not require "yaks and minotaurs" to exist. I mean, I'm not sure if you know this, but... higher echelons of power typically have underlings or heralds under them. God has Angels, Odin has Valkyries, the Devil has Demons, etcetera, etcetera.
So wouldn't it make sense for an Alicorn of Morality, who was so consumed by his desire to carry out punishments against those who commit crimes that he became known as an Alicorn of Fear, and he'd have an army of steadfast subordinates who were willing to carry out his designs? I mean, he can't just show up in person and do it himself for everything; he'd need to be at several different places at once.

Clover the Clever is female in my lore.

So you're already going against the lore that's been established in the show, I see.

And magic capable of delaying the physical aging process is not as unbelievable when magic that can alter reality

You mean that thing Discord, a spirit of chaos, can do?

bend time, open dimensional rifts

Crossing the fourth dimension is child's play compared to extending and preserving something meant to die at a certain period of time. Poking a hole through time temporarily, is not the same as completely suppressing it to such a degree that death has no countenance, a la Xande from Final Fantasy III. Especially, if it's for millions of years at a time.

as well as a number of other things exist.

If it takes Twilight (a unicorn with magic as her talent) all her strength to give a unicorn wings, why would it be plausible for other unicorns of similar talents to stop themselves from aging... for millions of years? How's this magic even work in your universe; is it a spell that's chanted once that lasts forever, does it require some grand concoction to be prepared with many an alchemical reagent, or is it something that needs to be cast frequently over relatively short periods of time?

Magical development, just like any form of growth and development are handled differently. No different than a human growing a foot in height practically over night. Sudden and unexpected and or unexplained growth spurts can occur.

Except a human doesn't grow a foot overnight, it's a gradual progression before they actually attain that amount of growth. That's like if a dam has a small hole through the middle, and expecting it to output the same amount of water when the whole thing blows. And, with this stress put on the body, it could kill the person experiencing it; equal and opposite reaction and whatnot. That's why people eat more the higher their metabolism is; to compensate with the stress of how much energy is being used to work and grow.

A base skeleton and thus susceptible to any and all forms of added details, changes, tweaks, and or modifications.

Be that as it may, I'm still skeptical of its development, and I don't want the story to jump the shark. This is the only permissible shark jumping in MLP...
