Modern Gaming: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Wii U) Review · 6:30am Apr 3rd, 2018

Welcome to this new section dedicated to modern gaming and here we talk and review today's gaming trends. It is a section I wanted to come out with for a while since like any gamer I enjoy most eras in gaming. For the first review I wanted to go over what I feel is the best adventure game called Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It's been a while since the series saw a major change as a true open world game. BOTW actual goes back to the roots of the original Zelda where the player can go to any level when they wanted. Basically, this new entry is the 3D version of the original NES game and the concept is nearly the same.

The original game's design would get the player lost in the world presented to them. At the start of the game, the player could easily found themselves in trouble quickly. It's by wandering around and getting lost while it being possible of being ambushed by monsters. As I played BOTW, I actually noticed these trends here as well since you can go anywhere and truly find yourself in trouble and lost quickly. I'm really glad Nintendo model BOTW after Bethesda' gameplay style too as seen from the Elder Scrolls so we could finally get a true open world game.

I wonder when Nintendo will take Zelda into a steam punk world since BOTW already has shown technology like never before. I remember playing Final Fantasy IX and how it used a steam punk style in the environments. I am confident the same would work for Zelda and Hyrule could still have enchantment while working steam machines are in the background. That is the next step I would love to see Zelda go into as it might just make it even more interesting.
