Immortality for and adventurer (Philosophy) · 11:02pm Mar 21st, 2018
Good afternoon! Welcome back to Skywards Swords bar and in!
I hope you all are having a fantastic day today in Equestria.... Or it's wasteland. Tonight on the menu is a little something personal I created late one night, admittedly in a bout of intense insomnia. So consider this an experimental brew of inspiration. It didn't help I was getting that adventuring itch with no means to quench it. In any case, hope you enjoy.
"Why would you want to live forever? Personally, I wouldn't be able to handle it. Sure forever is a long time that I could put towards adventuring. But, what you have to realize is that a soul destined to adventure for eternity is also destined to one day run out of hills to map out and caves to peek into. It's almost like, being an apple farmer. But every year another tree dies and no new ones will grow. Eventually, the last apple tree dies. Then what will you do? It was your destiny to farm apples but... There are none left. If your very soul cry's and begs to harvest another apple tree and you can't. Its a type of hell you can never truly imagine. The same goes for adventuring, at the end of it all. Everything will be mapped out, explored, long looted, and it pains me to know that my efforts to explore, discover and learn about the universe around me, I am willingly and selfishly robbing future generations to truly discover something new, or unearth an ancient temple, or discover some ancient artefact. With every discovery I make. I doom another soul like mine to a lifetime of agony. The worst part is, I can almost sleep at night with that knowledge... Almost."
~Sincerely,
Skyward Sword.
