Pre-genetic Alteration: Athlete Level
Nathaniel "Nate" Russ was born to a family who lived in London, England at Christmas Eve in 1975. They were forced to go to America when he was only six years old because a murderer killed his mother. The city they moved into was Washington, D.C. When he was thirteen, his father joined the army and was killed in a battle, leaving Nate, his baby brother and his little sister to fend for themselves in the orphanage. When they grew up and parted ways, Nate became a famous athlete and won gold in the 2014 Olympic Winter Games and won a huge ranch, a horse named TJ, and a bull named Tauro. When he was fifty, however, life took a huge change.
Genetic Modification
He was eventually caught by a secret research group after an alien invasion. The scientists of the group spliced him with the DNA of various creatures such as Godzilla and the DNA of that alien species. He didn't become who we know as Naturus quite yet, he looked more like a hybrid between a xenomorph and Godzilla. Disgusted by his appearance, Nate broke out of the lab and escaped, all the while he wondered how he could see without eyes. That was when he became immortal.
Post-Genetic Modification: Building Level
Nate regained his courage sometime after the escape. As of now, he was living in a cave in the middle of a forest, leaving at night to hunt. He was eventually found by some poachers and was captured. Nate managed to escape, but one blow made him forget everything. He spent several dozen years as an animal, seemingly mindless as his mind operated on the same level as a common dog's, though he managed to discover Godzilla's atomic breath ability during that period.
World War III and the Star Trek Era: Small Planet Level
In the year 2060s, a worldwide nuclear war occurred, killing a large portion of humanity. Entire cultures were lost, and the remaining humans saw what they've done, and decided to finally bury the hatchet. Nate was mutated by the blast, expanding to the size of a small building and gaining extra spines on his tail and arms, as well as three eyes. Instead of atomic breath, an atomic beam comes out of the new third eye. Nate regained his intelligence, only to realize that his three children were long since dead. He heard through mind reading via his new psychic abilities about the adventures of various star-ships and a mysterious and omnipotent Q that visited them and was keeping an eye on Earth for any paradoxes.
Mushroom War Era: Planet Level
After two generations, humanity suddenly turned warheads on each other again. Nate realized that there was a dark presence messing with their minds. Earth became a battleground, and when the infamous mushroom bomb was launched, his worst fears were confirmed. The bomb mutated innocent people into strange ooze monsters. A powerful Lich terrorized the war, ending it with HIS victory. Nate was once again mutated, but this was much more drastic and dramatic, becoming the form we see today. Wanting to avenge humanity, he fought the Lich and won, letting a man named Billy imprison him. The Lich was eventually finished off, just like Nate wanted him to be
Post-Oovian Era: Dwarf Star Level
Nate now calls himself Naturus, and now roams a devastated Ooo. He deemed the Elementals dangerous long ago and killed them long ago. He found out that the Lich that he swore to end was killed long ago, so he decided to relax for a while. However, humanity was still alive and kicking when the survivors of various eras escaped from cyro-sleep. They went on their ways and started building new civilizations. Naturus decided to protect the humans and make sure their new civilizations develop. Eventually, the vast majority of humans migrated into space, leaving only a few isolated Stone-Age tribes which gradually degraded back into animals with some even going into the sea, with only a few exceptions. And then, a supervolcano erupted, coating the Earth in a nuclear winter and forcing the remaining tribes to move underground. A nuclear bomb that floated into space for tens of thousands of years struck at the same time, knocking the Earth out of orbit and making a new Snowball Earth.
Snowball Earth Age: Giant Star Level
During the nuclear winter, Naturus wandered aimlessly, occasionally meeting with tribes. As for the Earth, its path took it out of the Milky Way and into deep space. The world was kept habitable by meteors and the tectonic forces that reside inside the core. But it was still cold, about as cold as the your stereotypical winter. Not much occurred at this period. Somehow, life managed to cling on, adapting to the new frozen world, mainly because he created plantlike foliage that are made to maintain the oxygen cycle without the need for sunlight. This era lasted for 1,975,000 years.
The Age of Darkness: Solar System Level
In the second part of the Post-Oovian Age and in the Snowball Earth Era, the Earth was a non-magical world. However, when the nuclear winter cleared, a new comet hit, bringing new magic to the Earth, causing auroras. At the same time, Naturus realized that the Earth was without orbit, only warmed up by greenhouse gases and internal heat from the Earth's core and slowly thawed to about 54.5 degrees Fahrenheit. Due to being in deep space, there were no stars to light the sky, only distant galaxies, earning it the name of the Age of Darkness. Likewise life had to adapt. And adapt it did. With the help of magic, many bio-luminescent and magical life-forms evolved in the Age of Darkness, which lasted for 2,425,000 years. Nearly all sentient species that are found in Equestria had their evolutionary origins in the Age of Darkness, including the ponies.
Pony Era: Grazing Age and Age of Separation
The moon was failing out of orbit and fell into the gravitational pull of another passing world, tearing it apart and attracting gas and dust, creating a ring like Earth had before the moon itself was created, only with various gases and dust. Naturus decided to use those materials AND some of the world's magic to create a new sun and moon. And so he did, ending the Age of Darkness. In the Age of Darkness, magic was present, but cannot be used, just as it was in the Grazing Age. During this era, Naturus "raised" the sun and moon and was even worshiped by some of the tribes. There were no pegasi, unicorns, or alicorns at the Grazing Age. At that era, ponies were magicless creatures that had a lot to fear about like storms and predators. However, Naturus got bored decided to have a little fun with them. He manipulated their DNA and divided the ponies into three distinct subspecies, or tribes, and blessed each tribe with unique skills: the bulky earth pony gained superhuman strength, the agile pegasus became capable of flight, and the delicate unicorn was given the ability to do magic. The three tribes bickered to one another and went on their own separate ways, isolating themselves and over generations, forgetting about each other.
Area of Unification (Generation 3 and Generation 3.5)
The ponies have now completely forgot about each other by now and are unaware of Naturus, who secretly watched from the shadows. He watched the three tribes. Since there were not any threats yet, the ponies became a very happy and bubbly race. They built many fun contraptions to entertain themselves such as Ferris wheels and roller skates. Naturus was surprised and impressed, really he was, to see such a species without dexterous limbs construct all this, but then again, that was magic at work. Or, at least he thought it was. They even built a castle, for crying out loud.
Ponyland Era (Pre-Generation One)
Everything was going swimmingly, and Naturus was still raising the sun and moon and was still studying the various sentient races. Now, the three tribes found out that they can interbreed and started intermingling. The castle from before still exists, yet there was something that changed their lives forever. Naturus began experiencing visions of an epic battle. He realized that there would be a strong chance he would die, so he had to do something. He decided to select a race to turn into a ruthless army to do his bidding. And the race he chose was none other than the ponies. They were too soft, so Naturus had to toughen them up. So he created dragons, witches, and all manner of creatures to attack them for the sole purpose of training the ponies. But the ponies were cowardly, too cowardly, and called up three humans from the past. When Naturus saw them, his eye widened. They were HIS two daughters: Megan and Molly, and his son: Danny.
Megan Era (Generation 1 and Generation 2)
He shook his head, not wanting to harm his children and cause a crisis. He even taught them a secret code: "Bubble, squeak, and coming to call." He didn't want to cause a time paradox, so he decided to kick back and watch the ponies defeat the various evils that he created to train them. He didn't even have a chance to say goodbye as they left. When the gateway closed for the (final?) time, he seized his opportunity and corrupted it when no one was looking. Meanwhile, the ponies were rebuilding their civilization, modeling it after the human world. Naturus gave up on training them and decided to train himself, taking a group of unicorns to raise the sun and moon.
Pre-Equestrian Era: Solar System Level
By now, Naturus has finished training himself, and he found that society has dialed back greatly. He quit training after Starswirl took the duties of raising the sun and moon. He wanted to do something 'interesting'.
Tree of Harmony state: Star Level to Galaxy Level
Naturus gave up a few bits of his power to create two beings based of his daughters. He combined all three subspecies to create a new one: the alicorns. The alicorns were not naturally born (with the exception of Flurry Heart), but instead were created. The first two alicorns were created directly from Naturus. He named them Celestia and Luna. Naturus then fell into a dormant, pebble-like state. Starswirl and the Pillars found him and thought that he was a seed, so they planted him. Naturus used that as a cover so he can suck nutrients from the ground and eventually grew to be the "Tree of Harmony". As Celestia and Luna grew, so did their magic and the spark that Naturus put in them. When he wakes up, he will absorb both Celestia and Luna, then begin training and/or absorbing magic or magical beings until Ragnarok, when he'll emerge in his final form.

He's basically like Majin Buu and Cell combined. Though Celestia and Luna are Naturus's Android 17 and 18, he is like Majin Buu since he can absorb anyone, however, unlike Majin Buu, his personality is not affected whatsoever. I have challenged myself to re-invent Naturus, and I think that I've done wonderful. He's still immune to magic, even friendship magic, but only when he awakes from his Tree of Harmony Form. He made this immunity to symbolize that not everything is sunshine and rainbows, that there are things that not even friendship can fix.
