Return Of The Jedi Review · 9:41pm Dec 12th, 2017
Return of the Jedi!
So just like before, it continues where it picks off, but with a tad bit of padding, to be honest But honestly, the stuff at the start doesn't bother me as much as it does to others. Luke and his friends attempt to rescue Han Solo from being a permanent wall decoration at Jabba the Hutt's palace, but unfortunately they all get captured. But after another attempt to escape, they get free and they join up with the Rebels once again and learn about another Death Star being built. So while they try to destroy the shield holding it up along with the Death Star included, Luke goes off to face the Emperor...
Okay so out of the three, this is probably the least great out all of them. Don't get me wrong, its not terrible by any stretch, but I do have to agree there's some things that are a little questionable. But let us start with the pros.
The special effects once again hold up as usual.
Acting? Perfect. As usual, they still give great performances and they really make you feel for the character.
Action scenes are a lot of fun too. But honestly, the big space battle over Endor is the coolest part of the film. I really enjoy the space battle, and its cool to see the entire Rebel fleet all take in a part of the action and contribute to it. If you haven't seen it, go see it. Its a pretty fun battle.
The only issue I seem to have in the entire movie though, has to be the stuff with Jabba at the beginning. Now, he's pretty cool, he runs an entire gang and he can do whatever he want without anyone trying to push his authority. But the stuff with him and the gang trying to free each other goes on for a bit. Now, I personally don't hate that, but I can see where the criticisms of that are coming from. But something I will have to agree on is how if they cut that part down a notch, we could have continued the story without the padding at the beginning. Don't have that drag on for a bit, and just condense it down to a few bits and it'll be summed up.
But… that’s really my only issue. Literally, that’s my only problem. Everything else is really good.
A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, and Return Of The Jedi are pretty solid films. There's a lot of great things to like from these movies, and that's what makes them so entertaining to watch. I highly recommend this movie along with the others, as a great trilogy that's a ton of fun to watch. As for the prequels... eehhhh....
I give Return of the Jedi, an 8 out of 10.
Now I was gonna review the Prequels. but look at where we are now. I haven't done a lot of reviews lately, and you guys deserve some good Christmas reviews. So, for the next reviews, I will give you guys much deserved Christmas reviews that I think you might like.
