    Prologue and Pacing

Yeah, I split them up again. Deal with it.

Speaking of my story (as I always am), I've been keeping a constant of releasing the next chapter either on or sometime before the 12th of every month. You may have noticed, you may have not, I don't rightfully know.
    Or care.

    Not dead (yet)

Guardians never die. They're just Missing In Action

    39 weeks. It's been 39 long weeks.
At least, that's what FIMFiction said my last login was.
It feels like it's been over a year.... (It has)

I put my one story on hiatus because I lost the ability to keep going until I was finished.

    Dawn of the First Day

    72 hours remain

For those who believe the world will end on the 21st (which is, among those reading this, hopefully nobody), this moment marks the last 3 days of the Earth.

I doubt I could stop it, but you can be damn sure I'll try if it happens before the new episode of MLP comes out.

A small story for the heck of it.

So, I haven't written in a while. This is mainly due to slight writer's bloc.
I can't seem to get anything out, and chapter 13 is sitting in a half done Google doc, crying for my attention.

So, I whipped up this quicky just to see if I can still write well enough. Tell me what you guys think.

Blood suckers, or....blood suckers? · 2:26pm Oct 18th, 2012

CHRISTOPHER PAOLINI IS AMAZING.
I just had to slip that in there. (Christopher mutha-effing Paolini)

I've been reading "Brisingr", the third book in the "Inherritance" series by Christopher "Book Jesus" Paolini, and I've been trying to train my own writing skills by following his example and more or less analyzing his writing style.
So if you notice any improvements on my writing, that's most definitely why.

Anyways, point of blog post, is that I want some opinions on something very core to my story.

The word "sanguine" is obviously related to blood, or rather the color of blood, so I felt that vampires would play a nice role in my story.
However, it seems that I'm at a crossroads with which type of vampire I should be using between the dark, creature of the night that is as unholy as can be, and the infected, undead abomination that needs to keep feasting upon fresh blood. I can't decide whether I want to keep the approach I'm taking or veer towards a slightly different one.

Traditional vampires: They often move faster than any other living being, can teleport via a flock of bats, can turn into a bat and a cloud of mist, don't take regular physical damage, and can lure in prey with their unnaturally charming eyes and demeanor. They are weak to any holy items, and are killed by driving a stake through their heart, by silver, burning to ashes, or by being mortally wounded while in direct sunlight (which is when their powers become nearly useless)

Infected vampires: They have a superhuman physical state, can sense other lifeforms, can fly around (sometimes on bat-like wings), regenerate lost limbs and wounds easily, and are masters of stealth and subltey. They are easily killed by the same things as traditional vampires, but holy items are less effective and sunlight burns them at any touch.

Should I keep the disease's vampiric effects as they are, or should I make the vampire effect more un-tapped and original?

Please let me know what you guys all think.
Whether or not my vampires are traditional or more modern may determine if a certain character will show up later.

This video is what made me question myself, while amusing me at the same time.

Go with only direct sunlight burns them and stay with the infected vampires.
