    Howdy, y’all.

I’ve been silent on FimFic for a very long time, and this blog post has been a long time coming.

    What an incredibly bizarre feeling...

I just binged the entirety of DEVILMAN Crybaby, and while the somber tones of the ending where still settling in my brain, I turned on the first episode of Cyborg 009 VS Devilman.

    Medieval Coroner Reports

On Saturday, August 9th, 1298, a candle on the wall in a small shop in Oxford fell onto the floor and ignited the straw flooring. John and Alice Trivaler, the husband and wife operators of the shop, that was also their home, rushed out of the burning building; however, no sooner than when they reached safety, to Alice's utter horror, she remembered her infant son of only four weeks was

    Huh... I was there...

I slipped and twisted my ankle during this storm and spent three depressing days snowed in a hospital. And that was when I discovered Fimfic.

Never knew it was a part of meme history.

NaNoWriMo Day 12 Results - Turtleton D. Turtledove · 5:33am Nov 13th, 2017

Progress
Words - 11,488 + 1,800 / 50,000
Days - 12 / 30
Average - 1,107 words a day (+63) [Required average - 1,667]
Pages - 22 + 3
Chapters - 3

Total Progress - 26.58% (+3.60%)

Another day above the average. Nowhere near what I hoped to write today, but it's still higher than the average I need to make my goal, so I'm happy. Some progress and better than no progress.

Besides other distractions today, I hit upon something that took up some time. You know how when you've planned out a story and then as you're writing it something comes out and totally surprises you? Well, while writing one scene I thought - Hey, it's so odd that after such an incident that character X would leave the scene unescorted. In fact, it'd be negligent if X wasn't sent off with an escort. So then I slightly rewrote a scene with a new character that I never planned on including. He is an accident. But just like my parents always told me, it was a "happy" accident.

This character, who I'm naming "Turtleton" D. Turtledove until I can think of a better name, actually fits quite nicely into the story's structure. He even solves a plot-hole I've been trying to desperately fill, and he can take the place of a one-time character I had planned near the end, and it makes more sense that he'd reveal the things Mr. One-Off would have said since he'd been involved and heard the story from both X and Y's view. He wasn't planned, but he looks like he'll be a great little addition.

Now if only I can come up with a good name.

You know what? I think I'm sticking with "Turtleton" D. Turtledove.
