The third Splatterhouse review for the Genesis is up at Retro Corner. Splatterhouse 3 released in 1994 now bared a MA-13 rating because of the new ESRB rating that the US government ordered by law to be established. This came off the heels of Mortal Kombat and Doom in the early 90's as you know was due to these games having excessive gore for its time. Splatterhouse would change the gameplay for the first time from its traditional style. The story takes place several years later with Rick and Jennifer were already married since their past nightmares. They brought a house and had a kid named David but a dark entity called the Evil One seeks their son due to his hidden psyche powers. The Terror Mask somehow returns to Rick just as his family is in danger and puts it on to save them.
