My Little Pony: The Movie review · 9:25pm Oct 23rd, 2017
So, I just saw the My Little Pony Movie recently. It's actually pretty good, all things considered.
Out of the Mane 6, Twilight, Pinkie, and Rainbow Dash get to do the most and shine the brightest. The other three, not so much... other than Rarity's little scene with Capper, Applejack's roping, and Fluttershy... had one scene with a random Storm Guard.
Tempest Shadow was easily the best character, with Capper in second. Out of all the new characters, she gets the most time next to Grubber, sort of. The rest do not get as much time... especially the Storm King. I wish he had a little more time given to him.
The major problems with the movie are it's pacing and predictability; it's fast in some moments and slower in others, and most can be predicted by not even the most seasoned movie critics. The songs were okay, with "Open up Your Eyes" being one of the better songs. Sia's "Rainbow" was also decent as well.
The visuals... areĀ incredible! Not perfect, but pretty great. I can't say much more since all I could do is gush about how the animation looks pretty, so I won't.
In short, this movie is predictable, but enjoyable.
7/10 Good
I feel pretty much the same way, though I'd give it a 5-6 out of 10. Glad you enjoyed it!
