    A Happy Two-Year Anniversary(to myself)

And like that I realize I have been writing on this site for 2 years.
I barely noticed to be honest. Life is weird like that.
I am quite happy that I have managed to see this through so far...

It seems like I am kinda starting to get a better following. Which is nice. Only took the entire two years! Amirite?

I struggle writing what I'm think

Alright. Here I am. Looking over my google doc. Reviewing.

I come to a realization: I suck at this writing thing. I have had to fucking rewrite some 90k words just for Act 1! I was happy with the end result of that specific part of this story but I'm almost at the point I'm basically fed up with myself.

Thoughts and Two Variations on Equestria's world structure and Celestia's part in it. · 7:08pm Oct 11th, 2017

Option #1: Gross Over-Competence and light Sociopathy.

Definitively, for over a thousand years Equestria was controlled by one mare and one mare alone, Celestia. Celestia was a benevolent creature, possessing a deep concern for the well-being of the populous but lacking in an important quality known as empathy. It is speculated that her subjects’ insistence of her deification for the first one-hundred years after Luna’s imprisonment on the moon was main reason this occurred. More specifically, this lack of empathy led Celestia to make broad decisions without a concern for the everyday pony’s life. Due to her distance from the public and their dying conviction that she could do no wrong furthered her development of significant sociopathic tendencies.

In essence Celestia cut any ties to anypony ever and made plans to fix the world outside of herself, using magics she could not use by influencing other ponies. The most significant example of this is Twilight Sparkle. Ms. Sparkle’s entire life has been orchestrated by Celestia in order for Celestia to exclusively exert autonomy over the world's most powerful magics. The trouble is that while Celestia is good she will go to any means to achieve a state of “greater harmony.” Since in this instance we consider Celestia to not be capable of deep planning and scheming this fits directly with her total “incompetence” in certain situations.

Discord’s return, The First Changeling invasion, Sombra, Plunder Seeds, Tirek, The Storm King(seriously though, if that is somehow a movie spoiler shoot me), and even Starlight Glimmer Vs. Twilight.  Changelings Part 2. These are all examples of intentional negligence.

Could she have stopped Discord? Yes, but she did not chose to fight.

Speculation: We consistently see her holding back in fights or not fighting compared to when she and Luna were the bearers of the Elements. As we have seen it is not the Elements themselves that hold the power, but the strength and determination of the individual’s hearts that wield them, such is why they were more powerful in the hooves of the Mane 6.

Chrysalis? She got beat on purpose.

Even with the enormous volume of magic Chrysalis had at the time, this is the pony that literally moves STARS on a whim(You do know how massive stars are right?) She held back to make it look good. More specifically she held back in order to achieve the result of furthering Twilight’s ability to grow, become more in tune with “harmony and friendship”

SPEAKING OF THE CHANGELING INVASION: Why wouldn’t Celestia listen to Twilight?

Answer: to teach Twilight that she cannot rely on her. This fulfills her goal of actually increasing Twilight’s dependence on her approval. This seems backwards, but it makes Celestia seem more real to Twilight. That Celestia can make mistakes and that her influence on Twilight is like that of a friend. That is sorta the key argument I am making here, indirectly, Celestia influences Twilight to do what she wants by bolstering her statis both and mentor and friend.

Sombra? Who do you think beat him the first time?  Okay, so why is it that everytime Celestia uses the damn Elements she sent people away for a thousand years?

Answer: Because Celestia does not possess the ability to accurately judge a pony’s heart. This merely feeds into her intentional incompetence argument, all with the intent of making Twilight her ultimate protege. Twilight can judge ponies’s hearts and does it quite well and accurately, even throwing away her own glory during the defeat of Sombra even though Celestia explicitly told her to stop him alone.

How about them Plunder Seeds? This official princess test #1 for Twilight, why would she stop them, even though she could?

Answer: She doesn’t, she doesn’t need to, hell should could almost retire if it wasn’t for the fact that the Elements of Harmony were used to seal away those freaky plants.

Tirek? Before I answer this one let’s look at some basic information surrounding how Tirek stole all that magic so quickly.

Discord. However, that is no excuse just to sit about lazily as Tireck sucks the magic out of all your citizens. Even in the first stages, the Alicorns collectively could have whooped his ass. He was basically an arthritic ninty year-old at the start. Lost a decade every time he got a big influx of magic, but was still pretty weak until much later. It seems impossible to me that this would not be brought immediately to Celestia’s attention, not to mention Luna who would have immediately been assaulted by all the ponies depression after they had their magic stolen, (sleep appeared to be the main side effect to Luna would have known as soon as the first pony had their magic sucked away)

Thus, why exactly did Celestia not act to stamp out this attack before it began? Discord? Fear? Nope.  And why did she call Twilight to her in Canterlot, well before the she and the Royal Guard Army were in danger of Tirek?

Answer: To see if Twilight could give up power. In essence when she gave Twilight all the alicorn magic, this was Princess Test #2. Twilight doesn’t need functioning magic. Twilight choses the best path by proxy of being Twilight. Sometimes in spite of being Twilight. Point is: Celestia tossed away her best chance of fighting Tirek in order to achieve “greater harmony,” again.

The Storm King and Tempest: She stood there and got petrified. Giving only most basic information before letting Twilight figure a way through.

Angry Answer: Why would should just stand there? Better yet! Why did she AND Cadence and Luna show up without Royal Guards????? Especially into a decidedly hostile encounter? At this point it might simply be because she no longer needs to steer the ship and she has achieved her “greater harmony” through Twilight. But, I don’t care, sure it would have been a shitty movie had she acted but I’m just angry that she didn’t bother to even throw up a shield to stop a BALL, A FRIGGIN” BALL! However this takes me to option 2.

Option #2: Amazing incompetence, a lack of thought, and general airheadedness.

Okay friends. Forget everything I just talked about. In this scenario it is simple. Very simple. Much like my beloved big white alicorn. Simply put, there is always that chance that Celestia is literally a derp that can’t do anything right except raise the Sun. Gotta do what that Cutie Mark says! Now wait a minute you are probably saying: Why didn’t I cover my last three examples in option 1?

Simple. They are redundant. Even in the event Celestia knew of Starlight, she had no way to stop her, even if she had gotten involved. The spell used essentially would prevent her from interfering because of how Starlight designed it.

The 2nd Changeling invasion. How did the world not go into that wierd half-day half-night BS that happened with the Plunder Seeds?

Answer: Celestia and Luna are simply so good and moving the Sun and Moon they Don’t need to be conscious do it. It's either that or Crysalis purposely set up a fake world while they were in the cocoon where Celestia and Luna still did their job. Thus it can’t fall under option 1.

Anyway. This is actually one of the main reasons I bring up Celestia’s...just total lack of awareness. She’s never prepared for anything, constantly getting captured...she’s like the classic medieval fantasy princess. She’s special...and she is also mentally special in this instance...meaning she isn’t ready to react to situations or even think of situations.

Frankly, I hate this line of thought with regards to ‘Tia. I much prefer her being able to scheme and think. Perhaps that is personal preference but still. She lacks a significant amount of depth in this scenario because an portrayed airhead usually has some very plain character traits. She’s dumb, but kind. Check.(countless examples in show) She’s wise but has not intelligent enough to apply that wisdom to things she is experiencing or has experienced. (Her “helping” Twilight figure out what to do with Starlight after 2nd invasion.) Check. She’s trusting to a fault. (Canterlot wedding, Tirek n’ Discord) check.

That pretty much sums up Option #2. And it sums up this post.

Farewell everyone, I now retreat to the dark recesses of my life.
