Quick Thoughts - MLP s7 Finale · 12:43am Oct 11th, 2017
[SPOILERS for those who haven't watched the finale of season 7]
I love that all of the legend ponies are back, and will be finding their place in Equestria after being gone for over a thousand years
However, even though I'm glad that he learned his lesson at the end of the episode, I was not exactly pleased (at first) with the way Starswirl was towards Twilight during the 2nd part of the finale
Example: In one scene, Twilight tells him that she's come up with a not-quite-finished-yet spell that will send the "pony of shadows" into limbo [which is technically where Casey got sent to in A Journey's End, so I did it first π] without having them go in, as well...
... but then Starswirl tells her that, while he appreciates her enthusiasm, it's not a good time to take risks on half-a***d spells (to put it in non-TV G terms), which leads to...
... and my reaction to him saying that was...
But again, my thoughts on him became more positive once he learned his lesson.
Also, I loved that the rest of the Mane 6 stood up for Twilight right after Starswirl said that...
Yeah you are. Starswirl was what iβd like to call an βasshole.β
It's partially "Never meet your heroes" and partially that Starswirl isn't paying attention to the ALICORN talking beside him. Plus he dismisses the Mane 6's resume right off the bat. Dude was top of the heap in his time, doesn't see anything changing a millennium down the road.
