    Ivory Tower

Oh, lonely tower made of bone
    days of endless sun shone
and made you unready for flights of rain
    that made breaches of your walls that forever stain;
the cracks and the voids in a tool now useless
to show your life as one that was ruthless.

O' tower, your tyranny delights in the flights of fancy
    your material expensive. exotic. chancy.
In glory divine, in destruction divide

Look at all the fluid animation, look at the charm! Everything's in theme, and it's gorgeous and it's only the first three minutes.

#memepredictions btw, Spike's WhatchuTALKINbout coolguy-mcgroovy-motion will be popular gif.

Also 'Smile?' with Twilight twitching will be a thing too. It's too good to pass up.

Damn dude, 30 seconds chock full of meme potential right after the three minute mark.

'course, I am pausing to type this out every five minutes, so I #mightbeRetarded. Actually, since I'm using hashtags, I'm #definitelyRetarded.

'You've got this' is a fun, catchy, uplifting song about 8 minutes in with a lot of musical references. I kind of feel like this movie probably has a deceptive budget though. It seems like there was a lot of money put into this, at least compared to a lot of other films, but I feel like it was probably poured into editorial fixes. Well, in so many words. Very on model, it kinda looks like a lot of effort was put into programming functions for a model, and it was set up really well, and you can kinda see where they didn't use them, because the characters there kinda fade into the background, though not unpleasantly. The mane cast definitely seem to have very similar animation models, there are a few points that change, but not many.

. . . You know those old shitty fanfictions about Interstellar Wars with Ponies. They decided to make the alien invasion ones
A T H I N G.
Neato, but why, though?

Also, Three Princesses Damsels in Distress is still the go to.
Additionally, why the hello is this movie reminding me of Quest to Camelot?
Well, I'm going to keep watching, this shit just got good. I still need popcorn, though.

And 28 minutes in you will be introduced to Johnny Depp's Big Bad Wolf impression season 2. (Go watch the scene, movie's called 'Into the Woods'. It was really popular for all of three months, but for a fad, it's not all that bad.) Well, with a mix of Arabia, as well. It reminds me of something else, but I can't quite put that one to word or tongue. Either way, my initial impression of the cat is do not trust. I guess, Twilight in the scene is suppose to represent the viewer's apprehension. And at 29 minutes, that impression becomes deserved.

Damn, dude calls his own place a shithole. In a censored kind of way, of course.

I never thought I'd ever be able to say this... but for a show deliberately targeting little girls, this doesn't seem very little girl friendly. It seems almost as violent as say... a Star Wars, a Marvel, a... Bruce Willis movie. (Although that movie technically isn't a Bruce Willis Movie, it's Pulp fiction, and it's more censored than Pokémon Riceballs or Yugioh.)

Next baffling moment is how to be a corporate slave 101: Only work on the boss's dollar. Also, how to support piracy in a capitalistic environment, where the company you work for is scum, and you want to tell them that, but not lose your job in the process. Also brainwashing tactics? I'm not entirely sure about this movie now. I'm still enjoying this, but how much villainy could they pack in an hour and a half?

And now we have the Pokémon Ranger movie, when they finally discover that Pokémon's world. Neat. Of course, SPOILER.It's Hippocampi, not hippogryph, for anyone who knows the etymology.

Actually, I was wrong and it was both. Hippgryphs look really weird, their claws kinda look a lot like hands, and it send me into uncanny valley.

The finale is predictable with all of the previous shit showing up and helping... the execution is nice, but yes. Predictable. The nod to the 'crazy pinkie' trope is appreciated.

Actually, I have a question. Where has Discord been throughout all of this? He's not referenced anywhere except for the balloon scene at the very beginning. He hasn't even appeared yet. I don't know. Maybe he's on Vacation. Pinkie sure was upset that his balloon-him deflated.

And of course it isn't a good children's movie if it doesn't contain some form of murder and/or regicide.

So, lots of paisley, I finally learn that weird singer at the beginnings name was SOMBER SERENADE. Literally, Sad Song. Also, Tempest's real name, is #RetardedOCname.

So that's the movie, or my take on it. It was fun. I think I enjoyed the songs a lot more, but I still think the ponyfying wasn't necessary. My favorite character was obviously a tie between Scumcat and Googlybird. More Googlybird than Scumcat though. Altogether not a bad thing to start watching at 4-ish in the morning.

Look, I know the credits say Songbird Serenade, but it totally sounds like Somber, which I believe is exactly what the voice actors were going for. Songbird should only be to sell toys.
