MLP: The Movie - New Songs (Quick Review) · 6:24pm Oct 1st, 2017
Even though the film won't come out until later this week, I figured I'd quickly talk about the songs themselves, and what my thoughts are about them.
1) We Got This Together
Aside from this being my new favorite Mane 6 song (with the 2nd one being At the Gala), I enjoy this song because it gives me Disney animation childhood vibes, and going off of the footage I've seen so far, this scene is going to look beautiful in the movie
2) I'm the Friend You Need
This song hasn't exactly grown on me yet, but as someone pointed out on YouTube, this is like a more sneaky, con artist-like version of Aladdin's Friend Like Me , and it fits Taye Diggs' character well
"I don't think we should trust him"
3) Time to Be Awesome
Even though Twilight's not really a fan, this is now my favorite Rainbow Dash song, and it's one of those that you can tap your feet too
4) One Small Thing
This song was great, and reminded me of Pinkie's Present from the season 6 holiday episode.
Also, Princess Skystar's voice goes well with Pinkie's
5) Open Up Your Eyes
Okay, to all the other villain songs from the show and Equestria Girls...
Tempest's villain song is so freakin' cool, and I had no idea that her VA - Emily Blunt - could sing so well!
Take some lessons, Emma Watson... even though I still enjoyed your singing in Beauty and the Beast
6) Rainbow - Songbird Serenade (Sia)
I don't know much about Sia, and I never really heard her music until she released "Unforgettable" for Finding Dory, but I will admit that she's a great singer, and this song does give me a "finale/end credits" vibe
Well, there we go, a quick review of the songs from MLP: The Movie. You can agree/disagree with me, but these are my final thoughts, so now, it's back to writing, and see you this Friday with my new story!
