FMF 28: 1 September 2017 · 7:44pm Sep 2nd, 2017
Hey guys, and welcome back to another Fandom Music Friday! Yes, it's on a Saturday, and that's probably going to be the new norm. I'll still call them FMF's simply because I don't want to restart my numbering system. Got some good news and some bad news. Two of each, actually. Here goes.
The first good news is that I'm finally done with the second chapter of my MLP/Star Wars: Clone Wars crossover open colab contribution! The bad news is that the story no longer exists; the colab owner removed it from their page. Kind of a bummer what with the amount of time I spent mentally beating myself up over all those missed self-imposed deadlines. The second good news is that I'm now free to focus all my efforts on History Reimagined now! As usual, I'll keep putting progress updates at the bottom of these theoretically weekly blog posts.
Which transitions nicely into the piece I've rediscovered this week. I'm pretty surprised I haven't done an FMF on this one before, actually. It's another piece of gloriously-written instrumental work by Jyc Row. Namely, "Multiverse War." It's a fitting title since I'm working on a sequel piece for my story wherein we saw just that. I've mentioned Jyc Row's Alicornae series in a previous FMF, so perhaps I already associate the use of bagpipes with Twilight Sparkle due to their presence in "Magia Twilight." Right when the bagpipes pick up about a minute in, you can just hear Starlight and Twilight's banter: "I will do everything in my power to bring that world back!" "Well good luck!" You can hear it in other places throughout the piece, but at about a minute in, you can hear the incredible, unstoppable amount of drive that Twilight has to set her world right again. In a twist of irony, Starlight will get her turn to set the world right again in History Reimagined.
The second bad news is that my first formal request for my college to unban FimFiction hasn't been processed yet. I understand this takes time because there's a lot of students and likely a number of sites which must be individually, manually sorted through by a handful of staff. I've found a nice little place nearby my college, but I'd like to be able to stay on campus to do my work. Once I start actually publishing things again, I'll be on a weekly schedule and the importance of having access to FimFiction locally will be more important. Until then, I'll use off-campus sources to connect to FimFiction while using the system to attempt to gain on-campus access.
