My Thoughts on the DuckTales 2017 Premiere · 11:49pm Aug 13th, 2017

All right, so I finally got around to watching the series premiere of Ducktales 2017. And if I could summarize it in just three words . . .

It . . . was . . . GREAT! :pinkiehappy:

Even though I never watched the 1987 reincarnation, the reboot gave me a lot to look forward to. Why?

So Donald Duck's three nephews, Huey, Louie, and Dewey, are sent to their Great-Uncle Scrooge's place while he applies for a job. While over there, they meet Scrooge's caretaker, Mrs. Beakley, and her granddaughter, Webby. The boys instantly become friends with Webby and come across that some supernatural secrets that Scrooge had become involved in. Sound familiar?

Yep, the premise reminded yours truly a lot of Gravity Falls.

Anyways, it turns out that . . . surprise, surprise, Scrooge actually loves being adventurous! That's right, the old miser uses this as an opportunity to bond with his nephews and the rest of his estranged family. That being said, he takes the kids on an undersea adventure to Atlantis, which leads to a wacky under-the-sea adventure, a betrayal, outsmarting a death-trap, an escape against all odds, and ends with the Duck family growing closer as a result.

I highly recommend to DuckTales fans both new and old. David Tennant as Scrooge was spot-on, and there were many funny parts throughout the special. Not to mention the catchy theme song that opened up the second part of the special.

And the last few seconds imply that a story arc is about to come soon . . .

Overall, I give this a 9.5/10. If you haven't seen it, go do so already!!
