Fame and Misfortune review (DON'T READ, OUTDATED!) · 6:53pm Aug 12th, 2017

I'm just gonna get this out of the way... this is not an easy episode to review. Once again, this is yet another episode that is hard to review because of how it's written.

This episode is quite amazing, insightful actually. Whether or not fans agree with what the episode has to say, remains to be seen, but if they were to act in the same way the fans of the journal did here... then there may be more truth to the episode's portrayal of fandoms in general than we realize.
Complaining, boycotting, stalking, the list goes on. The Friendship Journal's fanbase skyrocketed, yet as soon as it started, toxicity rose too. It got so bad that the Mane Six were becoming affected by them. Twilight more so since she wrote it, and it's fans are taking a lot of the lessons for granted or take them literally.
That said, not everyone in the fandom is like this. Some of them are learning from the book as intended, as we see with the two fillies at the start of the episode.
This episode is also quite hilarious too, as the meta humor is (mostly) spot on. The song and the moral were good too. Even though the conflict wasn't completely resolved at the end (which is quite different from most episodes of this show), this episode is worth the watch.
9/10 Great
