    Verse 1:10 Rewrite

Rewrote the final battle in verse 1:10 as I became dissatisfied with how the fight went down. I added some Destiny 2 elements to it to further the story and I like it wayyyy more than the original. I hope y'all do too.

    Raze-Lighter

So I'm stuck on the Legacy version on Destiny since I only have a 360. However I would argue in terms of pvp it's better than Rise of Iron due to us not getting all the weapon changes and nerfs. I just got the Raze-Lighter after putting it off for a long time because getting the necessary materials is a pain in the ass.

Raze-Lighter · 9:27am Aug 3rd, 2017

So I'm stuck on the Legacy version on Destiny since I only have a 360. However I would argue in terms of pvp it's better than Rise of Iron due to us not getting all the weapon changes and nerfs. I just got the Raze-Lighter after putting it off for a long time because getting the necessary materials is a pain in the ass.

After running the strike a total of 6 times due to my teammates killing the wardens at the wrong time, I got it. The only other exotic sword I have is Bolt-Caster and I am having tons of fun with it. While the Phoenix uppercut uses more ammo up than Bolt-Caster's arc saw(forgot what it's called), I can kill supers in one strike and never has a kill been more satisfying. I've so far taken out a blessings titan bubble, sunbreaker, stormcaller, and a radiance warlock. All of this in mayhem rumble mind you, since waiting on heavy to spawn once in a game takes longer and isn't as fun.

Off to bed with me and hope you guys like my second chapter of Guardian Down.

Raze Lighter is generally unused in the Crucible for a couple of reasons. The major one is that it consumes too much ammo for a single kill. The Dark Drinker can provide a wide area of attack for the same ammo cost, and will generally kill everything around you in a single spin. This is exceptionally useful against Wards or evasive enemies.

Also, all four Exotic swords consume five ammo when you use their Right Trigger attack. There is no difference between the Bolt Caster and the Raze Lighter in terms of ammo consumption.

Just providing an alternate opinion here. If I came across as an ass, I apologise.

No you're actually right it was really late when I got it and my tired eyes thought it used 6 for the right trigger attack. I've had yet to acquire Dark Drinker. The right trigger attack is also inconsistent with Raze-Lighter as well as I have hit targets but was not close enough and only took down their shield and a sliver of health.

I love Bolt-Caster due to it's tracking right trigger attack but it can be avoided if the target jumps at the right time. Looks like I'm going to grind for a Dark Drinker now too. The materials search is going to kill me though. :pinkiecrazy:

Swords are generally PvE weapons. If you want to use a sword in the Crucible, you are better off using a Legendary variant and grabbing a better PvP exotic like the Necro or the No Land Beyond.

When gathering materials for your swords, try grabbing a Ghost that detects the resources you need. Then, while in patrol, aim with a Sniper and it will show the locations of every resource in the area that your Ghost is detecting. Alternatively, Hunters can use Keen Scout to see resources and chests on their radar.

When grinding for Dark Drinker, try going in a circle. Start from spawn and head around the left, moving towards the Buried City. As you clear each area, keep moving until you reach the Scablands. You can take the path to the right (when entering using this circle) to reach the spawn area. This is a reasonably effective strategy to finding the crystals you need.

I wish you luck in gathering them. I know the struggles of grinding for those things, but they are certainly worth it when you gain them.

Thanks a lot for the advice I always figured getting the materials for Dark Drinker would take the longest since I've barely seen relic iron while on patrol and I do run keen scout on my Night Stalker. Hopefully it won't take 3 hours like the Raze-Lighter did.

Gathering the materials will always take a lot of time, regardless of the method. A good idea to make use of is to do as many patrols as you can while searching, and maybe even grab the Gunsmith's field test weapons to do while you search. As long as you try to stick to the advice I gave, I think you'll be fine.
