So about two to three weeks ago I started working together with another user, VIRAnimation, on a collaboration project. I've linked the story on my user page under a collaboration section, but I just realized that I totally forgot to blog about it to you guys!
Now that I'm well into rewriting the fourth chapter with my new friend, I am going back to the earlier chapters and I am seeing just how much I like what we're writing together.
With it being a thriller action-type story, its theme is centered on hero versus villain where the protagonist, Rumble, goes on a daring rescue mission to save the damsels in distress, the cutie mark crusaders. An additional theme the story has going for it is the senseless Rambo style action, where the action sequences are exaggerated in a somewhat comedic way. The overtone of the story, however, is the dramatic seriousness of trying to rescue them from the sinister clutches of a band of mercenaries.
What I really love about the story is not the action of the story itself thus far. I am finding its original characters to quite endearing to me. Each of them seem to take on a life of their own without the detriment of characterization of the show ponies present in the story. I may be overselling it a little, but so far its generating some positive feedback and it has a regular viewership now.
