Just One More Piece of Art

Just one more art share: here's a piece I did this weekend to experiment, help push past this slow writing phase, and for the enjoyment of it. It depicts not a scene but a memory from Pride Goeth.

Pride Goeth - Complete but not Finished

I just posted the final chapter of Pride Goeth (technically it's not a chapter but an epilogue) and now the story is functionally complete. I'm still going to dig in with some rewriting work, though. There's plenty I want to clean up, make more readable, and just pull the story in together more tightly. I'm super happy with

    State of the Communion

    Warm wishes, friends!

Not sure why I feel like writing my thoughts out this time – I get by well enough without making serious use of the blog here – but there's no sense not indulging myself if that's what I'm feeling right now, I say.

A Little Message Through the Chaos · 9:53am Nov 9th, 2016

It's not about how much or little seen this post is. The most important things in the world come big and small.

With everything that is going on at this moment, in the wider world I mean, I think I would feel remiss not to put these brief thoughts somewhere that they can be seen, even if it turns out to be just by me in the end. But we, people, are very bad at speaking right. Often we'll put out the words that are for ourselves in the faces of others, but just as often we'll hold in what needs to be heard. Maybe the chances will line up and someone who should be here will be here, for this.

That is enough merit for this, I think.

It would be redundant to say these are trying times. Difficulty, hardness, and struggle is, in fact, the very nature of human times. This is, was, and will always be how our lives live. It has always hurt to breath.

You. You may not feel that struggle much, or maybe you're feeling it and fearing it very much right now, but if you don't know the struggle now then I guarantee you've known it before, or will come to know it sooner or later. The real hurt; the hardest fears.

If you're in it now, listen please:
It's alright. Even in the absolute darkness, it's alright; you just can't see it with the lights out right now.

In the big world and everything that happens in it and with it, there's so much; so much weight sometimes; crushing, and suffocating. But from the other end – not the big world, but the small one – it is just the same. They both are equally powerful. So if you feel that the whole world's been turned darker today for you or someone you love, and the despair is wrapped so tight that you can't move, and there seems nothing that you can do, then please: remember the small things. Remember.

To love someone is to change the world. Their world, at the least.
But they have to know it.
Don't hold it in.
Speak.

I'm very privileged. I come from a place of incredible love. Though, oddly, also a place of great loneliness. It's so strange... and contrary... but also natural, and sensible. I don't know why. So knowing what I know, and feeling what I feel, and thinking what I think... listen:
Instead of choosing silence, I say to you now, because you need to hear it:

I am here.

I love you.

It's a small thing. But that's just as big as anything in the whole world.

Please believe in the hope that isn't there, because you will find it.

Thanks. This was something I desperately needed to hear this morning. I love you, too. And love and friendship are always enough.

Glad to have said something meaningful for someone. Sometimes that's all it takes. Thank you.
