Dang, it is late. Of course the writer's side of me wants me up at this hour. Oh well, at least I can post about it here.
Hello, everybody! I have an announcement for a possible story that could be on here in the feature. While I'm currently working on a fic that is based on Disney's The Little Mermaid, I had an idea for a fic that was loosely based off of a movie which had similarities to Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid: Ponyo.
For those who aren't familiar with the film, Ponyo is a Japanese animated film about a young goldfish princess who finds a friend/love interest in a little human boy named Sosuke. If you haven't seen it, it's a very charming and cute film with beautiful animation, and I highly recommend you watching the film.
Being reminded of the film, I was suddenly inspired to write a story based off its concept. For our main protagonist, it will most likely be an original OC based off Ponyo's personality. The one thing I want to change is its gender, since the deuteragonist I'm thinking will probably be Sweetie Belle.
So we have a little fish prince and Sweetie Belle. The main idea I'm keeping from the movie is that Sweetie Belle finds the fish, deciding to keep it as a pet, only to find her new fish has turned into a pony overnight. The rest of the plot and details still need to be figured out, but like my writing style is, I want to be as original as possible while still having the "parody-like" essence of Ponyo noticeable. That should hopefully make the story enjoyable for those who've both seen or haven't seen the movie before.
