Offending people sucks. · 10:27pm Sep 17th, 2012
Yeah, it does.
If you're LOOKING to offend someone, because you're bored or just a generic asshole, then it obviously doesn't suck nearly as much as when you do something that offends someone.
I'm generally the type of person who does not like hurting people (physically or emotionally). I've offended people before, and whenever I do, I usually spend the next few hours of my life worrying "Is that person going to hate me? Can they forgive me?" no matter how little I offend them. I feel like Fluttershy, fuck.
I've done it before in my life on multiple occasions, usually on the internet. One time I was in an IRC for a website that none of you are familiar with, and my username for it was Nephilim, which I assumed was just the generic word for Half Angel and Half Human (got it from a book.)
Yeah, it offended a jewish person, as the Nephilim are evidently quite important (I know nothing about them.) I immediately changed the username and apologized, they said it was okay, but I still felt like absolute shit.
I'm going to go eat.
Offending people not-on-purpose does suck. Offending someone when you're trying to offend them, on the other hand, is one of the most satisfying experiences one can have. Aside from, you know, watching a particular show about ponies.
